Mine gets Acana in the morning, Nutro Natural Choice 3oz can in the evening. Rotate Tiki/Weruva for his canned periodically. Is that enough wet in his diet? What does everybody else feed daily?

oh Canada~
I feed Kismet, our ~5lb cat about 1.5-2oz twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, and Mo, our ~10lb cat gets closer to 4oz twice a day. At the end of the day, they both get 0.5oz of kibble that they have to work for. The wet is a rotation of several brands, the dry is a mix of two.

The former gets a total of 160-180 calories/day, and latter gets closer to 300 calories/day. Since a lot of cats don't drink enough water reliably, I would say the more wet, the better. I know if Mo didn't eat wet food, he wouldn't drink water until he felt like collapsing, but Kismet will go lap up a few tablespoons right after eating kibble.

They either get dry food (not as often now), or Bozita for breakfast. Then Bozita (or Iams or ProPlan or if I've picked something else up at the per store) for lunch. And finally commercial raw food for dinner. I have a lowered immune system so I should't mess around with raw meat. I'm also a vegetarian and I don't really want to cut up a bunch of meat... I do it sometimes.

Bozita, if anyone's wondering/doesn't know, is a great cat food that's organic and local. (for me who lives in Sweden)

It comes in a lot of different tastes to you can switch it out so the cats doesn't get tired of it, but spare them the long diluting process of switching foods. :D

FLUTD kitty:

Rotation of Hills c/d can stew formulas, Cats in the Kitchen - Pumpkin Lickin Chicken or Love me Tender. Pride by Instinct Rockstar Rabbit.

He gets 1/2 5.5oz can (or 1 pouch) twice daily + 1 tsp pumpkin mixed in. If he's fussy, I'll mix in 1tsp of Tiki Cat Sardine Cutlets to make him eat it. 2-3x a week I'll give him a Fancy Feast Broth as a treat.

Other 2 kitties

AM: 1/2 5.5oz can Iams (various flavors)

PM: 1/2 5.5oz can Friskies (various flavors, mostly chunky)

Everyone gets added water mixed in, but my FLUTD kitty gets the most.

Everyone gets half of a 5.5oz can of food first thing in the morning. Montgomery gets Hill's w/d, but the others get a wide variety of flavours and brands lest the little monsters become bored...After the dishes are done, the dry food goes out. Hill's w/d dry goes down on the floor where Montgomery can eat it. The others eat this too, but I put another dish up high where Montgomery can't reach it. Currently, they're eating Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken, but they're getting toward the end of that so now I'm deciding between Hill's Oral Care or Royal Canin Indoor. Nothing except water gets left out over night. They have four large dishes of filtered water with ice cubes always.

I feed raw so my cats get 1 oz for each meal.

Is the Acana dry food? How much of that are you giving? As long as you also feed canned food daily and add extra water to it, your cat is getting enough

Yes the Acana is. Champion Pet Foods, same company that produces Orijen. Just not as rich in protein etc. I have a British Blue and he's a big boy. 13 pounds at a little over a year old. 1/4 cup of dry, 3 oz can of wet Nutro/Tiki/Weruva, I have not been adding any water but I will. Tea spoon extra? Thank you all...

A teaspoon of water is fine. You can add more if your cat will eat it. Some cats like really soupy food.

Nora gets roughly 5.5-6oz of wet per day.

Half a can for breakfast, then the remainder for dinner, with added water.

Cans include: Halo, Wellness, NVI, Weruva, Simply Norish, and Stelly and Chewys freeze dried raw. All are different proteins such as Turkey, Chicken, Rabbit, Lamb, and a small amount of Salmon. She's not too keen on her chicken meals anymore, but still loves her turkey and rabbit. Calories range, but on average, equal roughly 200. She's 8 pounds.

I guess it depends on the cat . My cats like their wet food  REALLY wet ..  I take  a 3 oz can of FF Classics  and mix in  a full can of hot water and split between them . This is the only way they will eat it ..

I do the same as 2Cats4Me. Mine (3) get 5.5-6oz to share each morning. I dump the food in the bowl, mush it up real good with a fork (even pates to break down the shape) and mix in a full can of fairly warm water. They lap it up quite happily and I feel good knowing they're getting fluids in. Dinner is kibble, sometimes I wet it down and other times I leave it dry. Dry gets rotated every bag or two, right now they're eating mostly Authority GF Chicken but I've got a bit of Purina Cat Chow (green bag) mixed in to stretch it. Canned food is their most varied area of nutrition. I can easily have 8+ brands with 20+ flavors on hand at any given time. My normal 'go to' brands are Sheba, Fancy Feast, Grreat Choice (Petsmart brand) and Friskies. They're my "affordable even at full price" foods so they make up the bulk of my stash though I'll use most anything I can get on sale or use coupons for. Authority, Simply Nourish, Instinct (I buy the 13oz dog food cans, same thing as the cat food but more economical), Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Hills, Iams, Pro Plan, Royal Canin, Canidae, Merrick, ect ect. I try not to feed the same canned two meals in a row and stick almost exclusively to pate styles.

While it isn't a "daily menu", I do sometimes give the cats some raw meat scraps. If I've got more meat than a recipe calls for (or that can fit in my dish or pan) but not enough to make a second meal with it then they get what's left. Their favorite is pork chops. lol! Sometimes I also purchase chicken hearts and gizzards specifically for them and toss a couple every few days as treats; good for the teeth/jaws + the hearts are a good source of extra taurine. :) Oliver is the exception though, he won't touch raw by his own choice so only two (Plus the dog) split whatever meat I have.

Approx 3 oz in the morning.     Late afternoon when I get home from work another 3 oz's.   Then just before i go to bed I'll give them another 1.5 oz's.    My kitties are just under 1 yrs old.  I have one who has a bigger appetite and it looks like he'll just be a bigger cat than my other so he often gets a bit more than this.  As they get older I hope they eat less because boy, I'm spending a lot of money all the little buggers. lol

Feeding all canned with a rotation of NV Instinct chicken and rabbit, Natural Choice chicken and turkey, Merrick Duck , Tiki cat chicken and I just started given them Primal turkey which one likes more than the other.  Once and awhile I'll feed some Wellness but I think I"m going to cut that out since I'd prefer less veggies in their food.

For treats they get Pure Bites turkey and chicken  which I  get with subscribe and save on Amazon so I get them 15% off.  For more crunchy stuff I"ll buy something like Wellness or Evo treats. Basically whatever grainfree treats my pet store has on sale.

Could you tell me about merrick. Do they like it. Is it pate or gravy. What flavours.
I'd be very grateful.

Mine like chicken or duck Pate best. My fussy female eats it every time. It is a good company with their own plant. They do have carageenan, this does not seem to bother my cats. They also have gravy flavors like Grammys pot pie, turducken and cowboy cookout. Mine prefer chicken or duck Pate. I buy it online and find it to be reasonable compared to some others. No one ever vomits or turns their nose up at it.

Tuck gets a little over 1/8 of a cup of Petcurean Go! in the morning in his foraging egg. At night he gets either half a can of Friskies or a can of Fancy Feast. He weighsa little over 6lbs and I honestly have no idea where he puts it all. He'd chow down all day if he could. Vet age estimates for him vary from eight months to two years so idk if this is just crazy teenager munchies or if he's always going to be wanting all the food all the time.
