My Minnie had been suffering from aggressive cancer for the past four or five years. It got so bad that a lump the size of an egg formed and then a hole formed in it that leaked blood and pus, which was very messy and kept leaking. I took her to the vet yesterday and they gave me the option of having further treatments done, but I decided that we had had enough of what cancer was doing to her, so I decided to end it all for her. She went to sleep quietly and smoothly with me hugging her, kissing her, and telling her goodbye. I lost her sister Sally last July from aggressive cancer as well. It's going to take some getting used to coming home to no cats to greet me. I might start over again with two more cats, but I want to wait a bit out of respect for the two that I lost and give myself some time to grieve.

Thanks randy snowballs and Catconcern, It's been one heck of a beating in less than a year. I do believe in a higher power to help us through.

I t was weird. Sally liked to be picked up and cuddled like there was no tomorrow, but when I came in the door she waited until I got to her. On the other hand, Minnie didn't like to be picked up, but she was the first one to greet me!

I know how much it hurts, two more little balls of fur would be a welcome distraction for you, I know my two keep my mind occupied and bring me happiness. Sometimes the world is not fair to us, why else would we feel such heartache and get no answers to our questions of why? The ONLY thing I can think of is it makes room for our love to encompass another sweet little soul that desperately needs a forever home. My heart goes out to you once again, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers and pray your two sweet babies are once again united and healthy. They will never be forgotten, they are in your heart forever. I'll cry for your heartache and ask that you be gentle with yourself, take care...... RIP beautiful Minnie!

I'm sorry for the loss of your two kitties.  Is that them in your avatar?  If so, they were super pretty kitties.

I'm very sorry for your loss. It must be so tough to have lost both of them within a short period of time. RIP, Minnie. I hope you've been reunited with your sister Sally. :rbheart:

Thanks for the kind consoling words, my friends. On my avatar, that's Sally on the left and Minnie on the right. I'll post a bigger pic of minnie when i get home from work.

I tried to post a pic of MInnie by herself, but I can't seem to do it. Like I said, Sally is on the left and Minnie is on the right.

What a beautiful picture.  I am sorry for your loss.  We went through a situation that sounds very similar to yours with our sweet Paws, so I understand about having to make the decision for further treatment.  For Paws, it would have meant a skin graft, and we couldn't do that to him.  There's a lot to be said for quality of life.  Bless you.
