Well, I'm happy despite my achy bones, because the girls are warm and toasty. My hubby made a "tent" in the garage that's heated to 50-60 degrees, while its about 5 outside (-15 wind chills, and boy does that wind hurt!). They are being incredibly sweet, they really trust us, and show gratitude every time we improve their home. (Which is great, because a good friend is gonna help us put in a real cat door, so we don't have to keep the door open all the time! Lol)

We managed, somehow, to keep Judy in. (Why would she want to be out in thi!?!?!?) She gets bullied out of everything outside, but she's safe and warm on a comfy recliner.

Everyone got warm lactose free milk, and are snuggled up warm and safe. There's at least 7 shelters in this part of the block too. I wish all ferals could have the same...[emoji]10084[/emoji][emoji]10084[/emoji][emoji]10084[/emoji]

And I'm still grinning over a breakthrough. My grandmother-in-law who we live with has finally been charmed by a kitty! She adores Judy, and even she agreed we had to keep her in. Its great seeing her talk to Judy. And Judy is pretty chatty herself. Lol As it stands, she's welcome to come and go as pleases (barring horrific weather like this! She's stuck in then. Lol) Its more than we ever expected. Its so wonderful having her here. :-)

Just wanted to share the good news. [emoji]128516[/emoji]

You have some very lucky kitties!!  Such great news on Grandma accepting the Judy.

I hate hate hate the cold.  I continually ask myself why on why I live where it gets so darn cold.  I was up before 6 am this morning and it is -8 with windchill -23.  Two of my ferals snuggled together in their heated house all night.  I have a thermometer in there and it only dipped to a low of 37.  I think they did just fine!

I am concerned as my latest feral has not been here since early Monday.  I am so hoping he found another warm bed.  I was awake off and on all night the past two nights worrying about the cats.

Thanks so much for sharing your update.  I would love to see a picture of the heated shelter.

sounds like a cozy setup. i've always had success with the heated pet mats -- 1 large Lectro-Kennel and 1 large Lectro-soft. they both stay a little warm when unoccupied but heat up to body temperature (about 102 degrees) when the cats get on them.
