Ok, so i live in a loft apartment where the second floor is open. My cat (4&1/2mths) was playing and feel off the ledge to the first floor. He had done this before, right before i was going to the vet luckly, and the vet said he was fine, cats are ok with that kinda fall. He said he didnt show any sign off broken bones or internal bleeding, and that he should be ok living at our apartment.
Ok.... So then he was playing close to the ledge.... And he fell again.. I totally freaked out, i mean i know he cant just fall from that height and be okay. I went downatairs and picked him up and made sure he was walking and playing ok, and touching his stomach to make sure no internal bleeding was taking place, because i woyld assume if that were the case he would have some swelling there. Well after i did all the initial OMG check ups, I NOTICED BLOOD MY HANDS. I dont know how to describe it well, but its basically on his balls/penis.
It was just a spot of blood on my hands that i noticed and there was just a spot of blood on genital, the blood sorta dried up after a few minutes(like 25ish) and theres no more bleeding.
I called the emergency vet place and she told me that if hes not showing any bad symptom, i could wait a couple hours before getting him checked up.
So far he appears to be normal, he doesnt even go to lick the spot. being 5am here, he is sleepy atm like he normally would. After the situation happened he did try to play with us a little bit, which we discouraged due to not want the wound to open and blee again. And im take him to the vet at 9am. I just really need at least one answer right now to help me grasp the situation more...
As a broke college student(ATM) it honestly is very heartbreaking that i cant pay the 100+ money take him to the vet. I fell very ashamed that i have to go to the vet 5 hours later to be able to afford his bills....

Also, he was neutered on the 8th of last month, and i constantly monitered the surgery site and it seem to have healed ok. The spot it was bleeding might be the incision site, but i cant be to sure because hair has grow over it. Im pretty sure it is, but im not gunna say it. It shouldnt be bleeding fro, there because it healed a couple weeks ago.

Ok for all the people who read this, here's an update!
Vet says he's fine, minor injury to his peepee. If he pees, all is well, but if he doesnt he'll need to surgery! Sucks, but at least k know he dosent have internal bleeding or any thing of that nature. I just hope he can do the number one by this afternoon!

I think your cat needs to be retired to the great indoors!! He's already used about 4 of his 9 lives!!!
I agree! It sounds like you have a bit of clutz on your hands.

I too had a kitten around that age fall off a balcony in college. She was fine and lived several years after. (something else caused her death at 7)

Thankfully kittens are very bouncy and bendable for reasons like this.

If I understand you correctly this an indoor ledge he falls off? I'd look into make some sort of barrier for him so he can't keep falling off, and work on discouraging him from playing in that area and give him some more exciting areas to play in.  Hopefully he'll outgrow this clutziness and stop falling off but in the mean time you want to prevent this from happening again.

You also may want to look at doing some cat stairs for him to the loft so he can use that instead of falling off or move furniture so he's not tempted by the ledge to some furniture he can barely reach.... but it kind of depends if he's currently intentionally jumping off and failing miserably or just accidentally rolling off the ledge.

He jumped once, because i was having my ceiling redone. He got really scared and just said f@#! It. The second time he was playing with his toy, and it was my fault because i thought that theres no way he'll let himself fall, and then He falls. I can tell he knows not to do jump, and im prolly never gunna let him play near it agian. And he is an indoor cats. Now i know why they say cats have 9 lives.

I hope your cat pees soon and doesn't need anymore medical help! I understand about money being tight. I thought I had some extra cash for once and instead it all got eaten up by my cat's annual exam/vaccines. Pets definitely aren't cheap! I agree with what the others have suggested. Move some furniture or create some kind of barrier so that your energetic cat is less likely to be falling off the loft.
