Hi- hoping someone can help me out. My 4yr old cat, maggie has a squinty eye. Her left eye is pink and it looks teary eyed. I've included 3 pictures hoping someone can help me out.

She's healthy, eating/playing/sleeping fine. Litter habits are good.

Thanks!
Heather

It looks like Maggy got something in her eye but she looks ok. If her third eye lid comes out and is inflammed or is her eye gets really crusty you may need a vet visit for antibiotic gel or drops.

Thanks! She's a ham for the camera lol

She's allowed me to put a warm compress on her eye a few times. And call the vet in the morning if it's worse.

Terramycin~ It's a life saver.  You can pick it up at feed stores or online. I'd treat it with that for a day or two and see if it goes away if it doesn't call the vet. She probably has something in there or an infection. The Terramycin is an antibacterial designed for cat and dog eyes.

You can also rinse her eye out with a saline solution.

Thank you! I had a look at her this morning, and she's less "pirate" looking today.
I took a compress to the eye last night, and I think it helped. I'll have another look when I get home tonight.

Good to hear!

Things like this are why I have a 24 hour hold rule in my house we wait 24 hours to see whats happening before we go to vet unless it's clearly an urgent issue.

I kind of think vets make most their money of the paranoid pet parents who pay for visits just to be told their baby is fine and just needs a day or two recoup....
