I dewormed my kitten yesterday morning. That day she ate food. The next day she ate breakfast but then she didn't eat after that all day and she's not eating today!

She also vomitted yesterday and when I got home there was something on the floor that looked like a carrot in the shape of her poop on the floor. There was three of them!

Is this normal? Someone please help me!

What kind of deworming medicine did you give? Did you go to the vet to get the medicine or did you use over the counter meds?

I would bring kitty into the vet asap! Not eating is not good. Best of luck, fingers crossed!

The vet gave her the deworming medicine :( I'm really worried.

She's active and I give Her water. But she won't eat and I have no idea what that carrot coloured stool was!

How long has she not eaten for?

It's possible the de-wormer seriously upset her system so she doesn't want to eat. The carrot colored stool could of been a poo/blood/worm mix.

I'd get her some wet food, cat treats, or even something like chicken that she doesn't normally get to eat and see if you can get her to eat. She might have a bad taste now associated with her food if she ate and then got sick right after.  Try heating up the food too, when heated it smells more and smell is a HUGE part of cats eating habits.

The fact that she's active and drinking water is a great sign. If it's only been 24 hours with no food I wouldn't worry to much, but if she has passed the 24 hour mark I'd give a call to the vet.

I would call the vet and explain things to see if it is normal. Good luck, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Maybe she just needs a few hours to get her appetite back. As long as shes not vomiting or pooping blood then there's no need to rush to the vet. Maybe try giving her canned food . I hope she gets better.

Yay. :)

She probably just had an upset tummy and wasn't feeling 100%. Now that the worse part of the de-wormer is done she should feel tons better.

I'd also make sure to de-wormer her one more time after this. Sometimes it takes a couple of doses to clear out the worms 100% and it sounds like she might have had a bit of a wormy build up. It would be better to de-worm soon then wait till she gets wormy again.

Okay thanks. I'll make sure it not too hot.

My vet told me to get her dewormed once again after a month. Her not eating scared me so much I thought I won't deworm her again!

But thanks now I know it's probably because of the worms in her tummy so she's definatrly getting dewormed again!
