Hi all.  I had posted before the holidays about my cat and the involuntary leg movement he had developed.  The xrays, ultra sound, blood work and urinalysis didn't show anything that would seem to cause the leg issues.  I decided to just wait and see if it got better or worse.  Well it now seems to have developed into something more like feline hyperthesia (spelling?).  He has the rippling back and will jump around licking at his back and leg.  He has good days where he doesn't seem to do it at all and bad days where he will do it for quite some time.  I am trying to cut down on stress (although there isn't much that has changed lately around the house) and distract him with toys etc. when he starts doing it.  He has regular meal times.  I am also buying Jackson Galaxy's skin soother and the bully remedy (for my other cat because I think he may stress Stilton out by always bugging him to play etc.).  Does anyone have any experience with the skin soother and the other products from Jackson Galaxy?

I'm glad to hear the tests came back with good results. At least you know it's not something life-threatening. As far as I know, the entire Jackson Galaxy line of products is flower essences/homeopathy kind of thing. There is no science behind it and it's not backed by any studies. It could still induce a placebo effect though (placebo effect does happen in pets), so you can see some positive reviews here in the forums as well.

If it is feline hyperesthesia and it's becoming a problem, you can discuss medication such as SSRI with your vet.
