I called Mars Pet Care ( Sheba ) to find the % of Phosphorus in the Pate formulas and they told me the

amount is   point  . 31  grams per 100 grams .

What would be the % of Phosphorus in a 3 oz can ?

Sorry , I am  terrible at math ..

I would call them back and ask them again, because you need to make sure they are talking about on a Dry Matter Basis anyway.  But I've never heard of anyone giving it THAT way before.  Usually they just say it's .31%, or 2.05% or whatever.  I've just never heard of it based on how many grams you are "serving".

@mrsgreenjeens  ...  I called Mars Pet  again about the Phosphorus %  and was told they could only give me the amount in grams . That is the only info they have .

So I went online and used a gram to percentage converter and it came to  0.031 percent .  I am not sure if that is right . It does not sound like much .. Fancy Feast Classics are 2.20 percent on average ..

Ok , so I did some digging and I found this info on another pet forum ..  If this is correct the phosphorus is quite a bit less than FF Classics ..

Info for Sheba Pate .. Supposedly all are the same .. Not sure if this is figured as Dry Matter .

Protein: 13.7
Fat: 6.9
Carbs: 1
Fiber .14
Ash 2.5
Moisture 75.9
Phosphorus .31g

Calories per can 113, with the exception of the beef, which is 114.

Translated to percent of calories:

Protein: 42.4%
Fat: 51.9%
Carbs: 3.1%
Fiber: .12 g per 100 kcal
Phosphorus: 274 mg per 100 kcal

I think those figures are probably NOT on a Dry Matter Basis, and it also seems to me that way back in the back of my mind something is telling me that you multiply the Guaranteed Analysis figure by approx. 4 (ish) to get the Dry Matter Basis (for a rough estimate of the phosphorus), so I'm thinking it might be around 1.2% per 3 oz can?  Yes, much better than the FF CLASSICS....IF my thinking is correct

Thank you so much for your help . It is so difficult to get a straight answer out of these pet food companies ..It is like pulling teeth .. It is so frustrating ..   I think I am going to go with the Sheba Pates ..
