I do not know your age or if there is a specific problem going on with your cat to need a vet visit.  Maybe if you offered to do chores for allowance and that money would go toward the vet expenses? It would show your parents your dedication to the cat and show responsibility in owning a pet.

Look into low cost vet clinics in your area. The service is usually pretty basic (check up, shots, etc) and doesn't cost an arm and a leg (usually around $50 or less). Do your parents have specifc reasons for not wanting a vet to care for the cat if needed? If you offer to save money to use for vet care, will your parents allow it?

I think you need to be more specific, is it that they won't let you get a vet for the cat, or that they don't think he doesn't need to go and you do?   In other words, is it matter of cost or a disagreement between you and your parents about needing to go to the vet.

Well, hmmmmm, if it were me I would get on the internet and start looking up your cat's symptoms.  Then you can try and get an idea of what the diagnosis might be and then you can try and convince your parents to spend the money on a vet.

In other words if you can show them it's cheaper to take your cat to the vet now or that a condition is harder to treat if it gets worse - then maybe they'll reconsider the vet visit.

Bottom line is that It is wonderful that you are worried about your cat.  Our pets can't tell us what's wrong so they need someone to be in their corner watching out for them.  In fact a lot of us take our cats to the vet just because we would rather do that then worry something is wrong.  Some people prefer to be more cautious like your parents.

At any rate, good luck and keep us posted
!

PS  After you do some research maybe you can posts some pictures.  People here can't tell you what is wrong with your cat, but they often can point you in the right direction.

If they are concerned about the cost, you can tell them about Care Credit. It's a credit card to use only at vets and human doctors, dentists, and other medical professionals. I have it and it is a true blessing when you need it. You can even get 6, 12, or 18 months with no interest to repay it. Apply online or over the phone.

After looking at your other thread, I'm going to say something that I hardly ever say here: I don't think your cat needs to see a vet for this issue. Talk with your parents about why they don't feel he needs to be seen. If it's that they feel that there isn't anything wrong with him right now, ask them to tell you what they think is going on with the issue you're seeing. My guess is that they see the same thing that the other members who have responded to your other thread see. But if it's that they don't feel a cat needs medical care ever after vaccinations, then there is some advice here to help in the case he develops new symptoms, or if something new and worrying happens with your cat and they hold to this position.

I'm glad that you're invested in your cat's well-being. Our pets can't get proper care for themselves, so they need their humans to be looking out for them. Your cat is incredibly lucky to have you on his side. Asking here about your worries about your cat's issues is an excellent practice: members here have seen a lot of things, and we are definitely not at all reluctant to tell you immediately, loudly and repeatedly if we feel a cat needs to see a vet! If in the future you and your parents disagree about how best to care for your cat, definitely ask.
