Good morning.

Today's question is How does your cat like to wake you up in the morning?

This morning I was woken by the sound of Toby and Hiro batting their empty food bowls across the floor. We have wooden flooring and they have stainless steel bowls, no way anyone could sleep through that.

Wow, do you think your cats are being too subtle?

With 10 cats, it's all different. Only about 1/2 of the herd does anything. Mostly, they are already on our bed with us.  Sarah Jane is so cute. DH is up well before me, as he goes to work early. He feeds the cats. Some return to sleep with me. Sarah Jane waits until she hears my alarm go off, then she creeps up to the top of the bed for a snuggle/petting/purring session.  The others mostly come up to me for petting and purring while I'm in bed.

Noodles will meow at the bedroom door on the weekends; but I rarely hear it.  It's only when DH tries to sleep in too much that she does that.  DH is a morning person and they've never been allowed to sleep with us; so I think it's all worked where I don't get woken up by the girls too much.  They don't know to come bug me.

Lilith has never woken me up. That's Sophie's job. How she does it depends on her mood I guess. She jumps on top of me and will either

1. Get in my face and say ACK!!!

2. Tap my chin with her paw

3. Stroke my face with her paw

or the newest one- rub her cheek against mine and purr loudly.

Mogli squeaks in your ear, and if that doesn't get results quickly enough, he pokes you with his paw. The next step is to jump on your head. He won't wake you out of a sound sleep, though.

Jamie used to put his paw in my mouth - it was very effective!

Believe it or not, Robin doesn't wake me up unless he's extremely hungry. Then---I can kiss my mantle decorations goodby!! And the toilet paper too. [emoji]128540[/emoji]

But usually he follows me into the kitchen and watches me make coffee. He's so mellow!

Right? It's like the feline equivalent of the breakfast gong, isn't it?

CLANG CLANG CLANG, Time to get up and feed us!

well.Cookie gets up on the bed and meows and meows.

If Im very tired she will give up and take a nap on the bed until Im ready to get up.

Smoke will get on the bed and chuck me under the chin if I dont shut the alarm off.

But usually he just sits and silently stares. Its funny how often his stare works better than noise.

He jumps on my bed and purrs next to my ear. That's usually enough to wake me up. He might climb onto my chest for a pet, or sit next to my pillow till I get up.

BooBoo and/or Ms. Pepe will start screaming around 4:30 or so. They'll walk back through the bedroom, yeowling the whole time. Usually a loud "NO!" will suffice for Pepe, but BooBoo is deaf, so he can't hear us anyway. I refuse to get out of bed before 5:00 to feed any cat, so we try to ignore the screaming.

Mollipop and Muffin will start to hassle each other, once Boo and Pepe have started in with their screaming. So there's a lot of hissing and spitting coming from Muffin as she chases Molli around the bedroom.

Tabby starts grunting and carrying on, wanting her breakfast.

And Amber Louise just goes out to the kitchen and waits.

Mornings are just generally not pleasant around here at all. They haven't been for the past several years.

Sparkle lives with me for over 15 years, and is now at Rainbow Bridge.

For 15 years, she woke me up by ransacking my bedroom!  She would start with the night stand:  lamp, clock / radio and Bible all went flying to the floor.  Then she moved to the top of the chest, and my jewelry box was next.  Bang, smash, crash!!!   I think I replaced the bulb in that lamp at least once a week for 15 years, lol.

Tommy has assumed the role of waking da HuMom up, now.  He does this by entering the bedroom where Mandy and Cuddles prefer to stay, and starting a 'fight.'  He doesn't have to do much, as Mandy can't stand the sight of him and starts that siren screech.  You must have heard it as some point, starts low and soft, rapidly escalates to a high pitch LOUD shriek.  Since I can't be sure if he will actually stay and fight her, I am up like a flash.

None of the others have had to do anything, thanks to these 2.

Ruby doesn't wake me anymore, she waits for the radio to come on then either crawls out from under the covers if she was still asleep, or runs into the room and leaps up onto the bed to greet me.

Anymore is underlined, because the "waiting for the radio" didn't always happens. When I first got her she used to wake me anytime between 4:30 and 6:00 with pawing, head bumping, gentle biting, etc. and wouldn't stop till I got up.  Finally I started telling her she had to "wait for the radio" and putting her out of the room and shutting the door until my radio came on at 6:00.  Then one morning the radio woke me, followed by the sound of galloping down the hall towards the bedroom.   And that has been the routine 99.9% of the time since.

Cocoa, is our wake up call cat.  She will jump onto the bed, and at first will walk between Tom and I.  Maybe to my pillow and then stand over me, staring at me (I've caught her lol).  She'll then come back and snuggle between us for a few minutes, as we give her pets.  Her purring is loud and constant so it's difficult to lay there too long.  If we ignore her long enough, she'll start meowing at us.

Lately, she's been letting us sleep most mornings until around 7:15 or so.  That's decent.  Much better than 5:30 am when it gets light out faster!

Casper, is polite.  He just lays down on the bedside rug and waits for Cocoa to do her wake up duty.

We start at 5:00 am. Dante climbs under blanket and grabs my toes with his paws. If that doesn't get results my big boy Cimba jumps up beside me and stares. (He is heavy enough you can feel his weight beside you) If he doesn't get results then they send in the Princess Enforcer Dutchess, she makes this screeching noise directed at my husband. That always gets results! Our oldest is smart and just relaxes until the younger ones get us to their bowls.

Ours usually don't bug us.  Their cat door is on a timer and it opens automatically at 6 a.m.  They hear the 'click' of the door unlocking and first thing they all do is run outside to go potty and play.  By the time they come back in at 6:30 - 7, we're up and have their breakfast ready in their bowls.

Autumn usually starts giving short meows around 8 30 am.  I will get up and give her a snack, then go back to bed.  She will get back in bed with me and fall right to sleep.

Kismet has never woken me up.

Mo will wander around the apartment yowling. Sometimes he'll do it at 1am, sometimes 3, sometimes 4, 5, or 6. Really whenever he feels like it. He normally does that when he realizes he's "alone" since we're in bed. We can call him to bed to shut him up, but sometime in the morning he'll start up again for food. There have been times where he's climbed up and pawed the blankets off of us, and licked any exposed skin to death.

Usually, Sooty meows REALLY loudly at me as if to say ''Get up! I need food. Get up you lazy girl!'' And I'm like ''Hang on!'' I need to get dressed.'' And he carries on meowing at me until I feed him.

Good morning.

Today's question is How does your cat like to wake you up in the morning?
Leroy starts screaming and walking all over me... around 4am... every single day
If Emma is really hungry, she knows how to get me out of bed ASAP - by jumping onto the dresser where I have the urn for my GA cat and his memorial candle and other breakable unreplacable items
