Hi all,
So, as some who followed my previous thread know, our lil grey tabby had three rather large bladder stones removed three weeks ago. After the surgery, he never really got a good stream of pee like he was supposed to, and last night we wound up ringing in the new year at the 24 hr ER vet because he was almost totally blocked.
The ER vet did an ultrasound and an X-ray, and found two "somethings" blocking his urethra. Might be stones, might just be sludge. They're trying to clear him out with fluids and have him on painkillers to help the lil guy out.
My suspicion is these are left over from before. Otherwise, somehow in 3 weeks time he's regenerated two stones large enough to block his urethra. His bladder is completely clear, and we've had him on c/d food only (with extra water mixed in just to be sure) since the surgery.
Is it possible for a cat on the c/d diet to regenerate CaOx stones in 3 weeks??
