Nose Raw and Red

My cats nose is raw and red from the bottom. The vet says it is due to extensive licking caused by the flu. The cat is on antibiotics but the nose which looks more like a open wound now then simply being red is not healing.

How do i stop my ct from licking his nose. Vet says no ointment will help since it will just lick it off.

Also understand that i am in a region where there are very few vets.

I think your vet is right. Unfortunately there is no bandaid that will work. Healthy Cats have pretty strong ability to heal themselves. So I would say keep him warm and comfy as best you can. If it is a virus the antibiotic won't help but will keep the open wound from getting infected so keep going with it. you might want to use a lysine product which has been proven beneficial against virus. There are some specifically made for cats. Search on like Amazon for cat lysine to find some. Good luck.
