Last night we had chicken, and the BF made a sauce out of garlic sriracha and frank's red hot with bleu cheese crumbles. Was delicious, with a kick!

Not sure whats on the menu tonight - have to go to the store. Probably more chicken, maybe get a fish filet or 2 to change it up.

Interesting night last night. Came home and started making Rick's snickerdoodles. We had had some thunder rumbling around and I had just put the last cookie sheet in the oven when the power went out. So I kept the cookies in the oven and let the residual heat bake them; they were fine.

I had taken a ham slice from the freezer and we were going to grill last night. Well, we couldn't grill in the rain. We couldn't cook anything with no electricity. So we worked around the house a bit; I did some straightening-up and Rick did some packing. All that good stuff. Finally around 7:30 or so, the power came back on. By that time, Rick had chowed down on cookies and wasn't real hungry. I used half of the ham slice, added some onions, mushrooms, and green peppers to the mix. We had some leftover EggBeaters in the fridge, so I threw together a country-type omelet for dinner last night.

We went to a steak place, had part of the sirloin steak (they bring out a 30oz slab of meat for $20! We split it up into pieces and BF took some for lunch today). Also had a small salad with their homemade bleu cheese dressing, a couple bites of baked potato, and some corn.

Wow, great deal. A 6-8 ounce steak is more than that at a restaurant here. We are going out for steaks on Saturday. I'm excited.

I went with my daughter to a restaurant called the hamburgers, I've never been but she had. They sell only hamburgers. Little ones. We both had three each but I could only eat two. Joanna could oonly eat two as well so they packed them up nicely an I took them home for the ex.

Last night we had Cajun catfish fillets with broccoli as a side.

They have a 60oz for $30, also. Blows my mind. They cut their own steaks in the back of the restaurant. A filet there is only $10, but I also don't think its near as good as a more expensive filet! (The best filet I ever ate was in New Orleans. It cost me $50 and every side item was a la carte, but it literally melted in my mouth)

Just me tonight. I'm thinking of grilling the rest of the ham slice and having a baked potato as a side. With a sliced tomato.

Last night I did not know what to make. I had a huge boneless skinless chicken breast which I defrosted and had to use yesterday. I also had some veggies in the refrigerator. I am not allowed to have a grill in the apartment building (fire hazard).

I took the breast, marinaded it in some Penzey's Tuscan Night spice blend; then lightly oiled it. I put it in the oven to cook. While that was baking, I chopped up some baby bell peppers, tomatoes, yellow squash. I put that all in a frying pan, along with some onions and garlic, adding salt and pepper and some of the spice blend. Covered and cooked while the chicken was baking. It came out so good..(actually it was some frozen onions and a frozen minced garlic clove.

It did not come out as a stir fry, which I also do; but almost like a ratatouille. It was so sweet. I do not know if it was because of the addition of the tomatoes or from the anise and fennel in the spice blend. It was really delicious.

I put the veggie mixture over some brown rice.

Yum!

Leftovers for tonight.

BF wanted sushi again, so we each got a salad (mine with Soy dressing, his with Ginger), each had a spicy blue crab roll and split a surf n turf roll.

Tonight will probably be eye round steak with a delicious sauce (leaving it to the BF for that part LOL)
