  • Walking over to the coffee shop over lunch today (it's about a 2-1/2 mile walk over and back to work, so I may try to stretch it out a bit to get my three miles in)
  • Just a bit of housework tonight, nothing major

- shoveled
- got my husband's car inspected

Turns out there were four loads of laundry last night. I did three. With it being so cold, we're going through sweatshirts, flannel shirts, sweat pants and long underwear like there's no tomorrow; I had to split the load of sweat stuff. So I still have a load of laundry to do tonight.
  • Rick is taking his truck into the garage for inspection tonight right after work. So when I leave work, I'll have to run out and pick him up from the garage. His truck is being inspected tomorrow (Friday) and Clarence, the PT Cruiser, is being inspected this-coming Monday. February is a busy month for inspections around here, especially since we tend to wait til the last minute to get them done.
  • Finish the laundry from last night....it's just that one load
  • I need to do some computer stuff tonight for work

  • Rick's truck is in the garage for inspection. Hopefully, it won't need anything and we can pick it up tonight right after work.
  • Scoop the boxes
  • One of the clasps broke on my Jansport bag. I've had this bag since around 1995 or so, so it's an oldie-but-goodie and I really don't want to throw it away. But I don't see any other choice for this as I can't replace the clasp (the whole thing is sewn into the bag). I can't complain as it's old as the hills at this point. It's kind of like the Jansport Messenger bags, but much older and quite a bit larger. It survived almost 5 years of college and 15 years of stuffing Planning stuff, notebooks, ordinances, phones, pens, and all kinds of other stuff into the thing. And it also survived cat puke. Seriously. I used to keep it on the rocking chair in the living room; one morning I was getting ready for work and went to pick it up....and somebody had puked in it. I was going to toss it then, but after a good cleaning, a soaking in Tide, two thorough washings and a good drying, it was fine. Lesson learned. Now I hang it in the closet as soon as I get home from work. I may hit eBay (and Amazon and Jansport) tonight and see what I can find.

  • Rick brought me into work this morning and then he took the Tucson on into his work. The roads weren't too bad after yesterday's storm, but we have to pick Clarence up at the garage tonight after work. He gets inspected today. (I don't know if I'll get him up the driveway though. I wanted to wait and pick him up Tuesday, but we are to be in a very icy state on Tuesday afternoon from sleet and freezing rain, so that will be even worse.)
  • Do a bit of grocery shopping after we get home from the garage tonight. Not much on my list, other than cat food and milk.
  • And the scooping thing
I think that will be it for the night.

I'm home today. There's some kind of stomach bug going around work and, my luck, it found me yesterday. It's not pretty and I figured it was best to stay home today. On that note:
  • Changed the bed sheets and did some laundry (I also washed my Columbia walking jacket)
  • Vacuumed and dusted a bit, nothing real fancy
  • Cleaned the bathroom and scooped all the boxes out
Right now, I'm sitting in the living room on the sofa. Mollipop and I are watching it snow.

Mass at noon,

went to pharmacy to pick up Artie's new compounded liquid pepcid (chicken flavored)

ordered pizza for supper..

I should take something out of the freezer, but I am just in no mood to cook. I have had a nagging headache since last night. I overdid it yesterday on cleaning. I was anxious about Artie during his dental so I wanted to occupy my time..I did too much. My bad shoulder started hurting last night and is still sore.

Expecting more.snow and then rain....This storm may put us over the record for the snowiest winter ever....

Today I
  • Moved stove out from the wall and cleaned the sides that face cabinets, the disgusting floor under it, etc. It may not yet be Spring but by the time it does arrive there is No Way I am staying indoors!
  • Started sorting and renaming (not done) 300 scanned images download from the service to which I mailed the 35mm slides. Some are needed for two lectures on March 21 and also need to be sequenced.
  • Laundry - washing and putting away
And the usual feeding cats, feeding us, cleaning litter pans, etc, etc, etc

Back into work this morning. Rick brought me in as the roads are treacherous; there's simply no other word to describe them. Ice is everywhere from the sleet and freezing rain last night. It came from the south, hit the house square on, and we couldn't see out our windows yesterday once the ice started. We couldn't even open the front storm door this morning; it's completely frozen shut and we didn't want to take a chance on ruining the door. We went outside via the basement door. Got the car cleaned off--a chore in itself--and literally slid our way down the driveway and out onto the road. Rick got me to work and texted me later that he got to his work safely. It's just dangerous this morning. Not a good situation.
  • Tonight is trash night, so we must clean out all the litterboxes
  • Rick is bringing the local's laptop home so I can print out the minutes from the February meeting for him.
And I think that's it. Since I was off sick yesterday with that stomach thing, I did vacuum and dust and did the laundry, so it's all good there.

Pushed some snow off the roof from my bedroom window with a shovel and a kayak paddle    :dizzy:

:lol3::lol3::lol3: I'm only laughing because I can relate. A few weeks ago I was hanging out a second story window with a plastic garden rake. We broke down and paid someone to shovel it off.

- At some point today I will be shoveling. There is already more snow out there than what was in the forecast.
- I've got some laundry going
- General straightening around the house.

Honestly I have zero motivation today. I feel like snuggling in next to the fire. I am so sick of ice and snow and all of it. My body just hurts from dealing with it all. I'm over it.

I don't blame you one bit, Karen. You guys have been through way more than your share. We did not get the 2-5 inches our weatherweenies forecasted for last night into this morning. We had a bit more ice instead, so Rick said he'd bring me into work. And once I got here, it started snowing and we ended up with a little over an inch or so.

Rick is bowling early tonight, so while he's gone, I should:
  • Finish up some computer work for him
  • Do some clean-up stuff: put some clothes away, straighten my desk, just little stuff
  • Make some orange-pineapple mini muffins to bring into work tomorrow
Notice I said "should"
 Just really tired today.
