A group of us started posting and supporting each other in our weight loss journey in June of 13. Not everyone stuck it out, but some of us did and there were ups and down, but weight was lost. :D We continued in 2014 -

Link to the 2014 thread:

http://www.thecatsite.com/t/270305/the-weight-loss-support-group-2014

It's 2015 and time for a new thread and new goals and hopefully more people joining in. :)

Weekly weigh-ins. We way in on Mondays. You would post how much you have gained or lost from the previous week. No, need to post your actual weight, because who really feels like doing that? :lol3:

We'd also like to share tips, ideas, recipes, etc. There are soooooo many different diets and theories out there and what works for one may not work for another. We'd like to know what is or isn't working for you.

If you want to just be part of the weigh-in, that's fine, but if you aren't serious about this, then this isn't the thread for you. Sure, everyone has off days and falls off the wagon, but if all you are posting are excuses, you will get called out. :) Some days, particularly lately, I need to get called out. :lol3: Of course if you are happy with your weight and just want to cheer us on, c'mon in!:lol3: We'll take all the support we can get. :D

So who is in? All are welcome and can join in at any point during the year.

So Aaron is off work until Monday, so I will not start hardcore until then. Boy, do I need to get back on the wagon. I don't even want to get on the scale and may not for a bit.

Same here. I'm off from work for the next few days. Starting Monday we get back on track. We both discussed our mutual desire to get serious about it again.

I did start throwing out items in the fridge which are triggers and, we don't have any other junk in the house.

Grocery shopping is tomorrow and that gives us a chance to stock up on healthier choices. Looking forward to it. I gained back a couple of pounds in the past month or so and want to nip that before it becomes several more.

I'll be back on Monday (probably with tears in my eyes at the gain). It's not been a good month and it's not been a good several months.

Rick said he's going to join me.

Monday it is
I have gained at least two pounds in December, and I need to stop. Now. Or Monday (when I start work again and won't have the time to go on a baking spree as I had several times these past weeks).

That, is awesome.  Having Tom join me in this is so helpful.  You have someone to commiserate with, be accountable to and to cheer you on.  I do think it makes a difference.  I've been able to lose in the past with success, but I always felt so alone in doing so.  Not anymore.

I am in, and just keeping on with my plan.  We had a lovely dinner out last night, and I guess I balanced the éclair I had well with the rest of the day's food, because I have a new one day low this morning of 162.7.  I've lost 64.80 pounds this past year, and that is with cooking and baking and enjoying my food.

My most sincere wish for everyone is that they find a program that they can lose with and live with tweaks to, once in maintenance.  I love what I chose for myself, it has made sense for me and brought me such incredible results. For just today,  I've lost 205.30 pounds since Spring of 2011.

Let's hear it for the turtles - we can win the race :)

Yay! I'm so excited to get started with a new thread. I lost 50.5 pounds since June of last year and am hoping for 80-100 this year. I have gained a bit over the holidays but the scale seems to be heading in the right direction at this point, so going to eat light until my first weigh-in on Monday and hopefully will be at the same weight or a small loss to kick things off!

Just want to throw in another plug for calorie counting and using myfitnesspal! It's the easiest way I've found to stay on track. You can follow a program along with it, or just count your calories if you don't have a program. If you decide to join up, PM me and I'll add you so we can be friends! :)

Good luck everyone!

I'm back in. I had a few indulgent days over Christmas but I'm back on track and I can see some fat coming off.
Let's all do great in 2015

Went grocery shopping yesterday. Stocked up on healthier options. Bought not one single trigger food and none were even left in the house. Gearing up for Mondays restart!

That's awesome! Good job for planning ahead. I need to do the same; I really want to get into the freezer cooking method, where you cook ahead and freeze meals for during the week. Things are super busy right now after the holidays and a friend's wedding next week (I'm a bridesmaid) but after that I think we will do a big grocery shop and meal prep day.

It's 6:15 am.  Getting ready for my long commute to NYC.

Got on the scale and it was slightly less than when I got on it a couple of days ago.  I haven't gained back all that much since I started slacking off for the holidays which was encouraging.

I had cancelled my Weight Watchers membership when it ran out, sometime in early December.  Tried to log on today because even though you can't use the tools, a non member is allowed to look through other things on the site, like message boards.  For some reason, it won't log me in and, I noticed there is no plan for just using the internet offered.  I used to pay only about $20 a month online and now it seems the least expensive is like $45 per month!  That's a LOT of money for a service which never really worked right.

Ok, off to finish feeding kitties, dry my hair and get myself out the door.  Have a good day all!

We are doing some grocery shopping tonight and I will grab my apples and my yogurt for work. Hopping back on the wagon as of this morning. I did
this morning....it was bad, but I will deal. Must get back into
 mode.

As for trigger foods, they are still in the kitchen. I wanted to throw it all away yesterday, but Dear Richard said that he would eat them (which isn't good for him either!). Chips, peanut M & Ms, etc. all still here. I see nothing, nothing!

Today begins the less eating and drinking. I have meals set for today and after Abby's vet appointment will throw out some of the chips, etc left over from the holidays. I'll figure out food for the rest of the week and off to the grocery store tomorrow.

I need to get some healthy options for snacks.

We have a lot of chocolate here, but it's good quality, expensive chocolate and I'm not willing to throw it away. I'm thinking of putting it all in a ziploc bag and putting way in the back of the top shelf of the closet. I'd need a chair or stepstool to get to it, so that will make me think twice.

I had a new low this morning of 161.7, and my new weight by average (which I do every Monday) is 163.16, for a total now lost of 204.84, and a loss this past week of 3.61 (which means I had a good week plus lost the 1.5 I'd gained the previous week).

Ate out last night so didn't expect a new low this morning (had salmon, kale and baby potatoes).

My reward meal tonight will be salad, 1 serving of a gluten-free French baguette (about the size of a 6 inch sub roll, and just 140 calories) with 2 veal bratwurst, and a recipe I am tinkering with for a cauliflower flatbread with onions and cheese :)

Wishing everyone a great start to this year, with their chosen plan.

Congratulations Pat!

Since December 15 I lost .75 pounds. I was originally aiming for 2.75 pounds, back when I thought I would stick with the program over the holidays. Then I was just hoping to lose what I had gained and maintain my previous weight! So I'm happy to see the loss. That puts me at 51.25 pounds.

Glad to be back on track. It feels good to get back into my groove with meals.

I am getting back on track, too. I don't know if I lost anything, as I did not weigh myself last week, but I am counting calories and I am eating around 1350 calories/day. I should cut to 1200 but it's easier said than done. I should also watch my carbs, but they are sooo good.

Congratulations to Pat and to Parsleysage! And congrats to all of us who are returning to the thread!

I have a rather silly question, but there's always a method to my madness. What's your best trick to not eating at night? Or to avoid the BINGE? Remember me saying that we still had the peanut M & Ms, chips, etc in the house? Well, I hit the binge fan pretty much as soon as I got home from work. As I was making dinner, I hit the peanut M & Ms, followed by the potato chips, followed by dinner. It's what I do and I'm so tired of it. I even asked myself yesterday, "Do you REALLY want to do this?" And basically said, "Aw, the heck with it!" and down the hatch it all went. Of course, I felt bad last night, not only because I binged, but well, I ate a lot of food last night. It's almost like somebody else is in my mind and I'm not even thinking about it. It just happens and then when it's over, I feel terrible. I can stay on tracks for days on end, but then BOOM!

Most of the time, I'll have a big glass of iced water on the counter next to me while making dinner, or I'll slice some baby carrots and munch on those, not a lot, maybe two or three, and I include them in my calorie count for the day. Fresh veggies are always good for us, and I think it helps. But last night, I hit those peanut M & Ms so fast it wasn't even funny.

They're still in the pantry, too. I wanted to throw them out last night, but Rick said he would eat them. The problem is that I swear they call me. And it wouldn't matter, even if they weren't there. It would be something, even if it's cereal and milk, peanut butter bread. It's a binge and it doesn't matter what I eat....as long as I'm eating something.

Does that make sense to all of you? And what can I do about it? I'm not trying to evade responsibility for my actions; I want to take responsibility and stop it.
