Am I a bad person if I say that I don't really want you to have summer, Tammat? Well, it's not that I don't want you to have summer; it's more like that when you have summer, we will have winter here. And I'm not ready for winter yet.  I'm sorry, my friend, but I'm just not ready. I am ready, however, for some of your mother's birthday cake!
 to your mom, Tammat!

3.5 miles on the treadmill this morning.

I could rake yellow leaves already, but there is still lot of green ones on trees.

Yesterday 50 minutes of bicycling.

Today 2 hours and 30 minutes of sweating, cutting boards, using wrecking bar to remove part of old roof, lot of walking stairs up and down.

Made also ladders and could not find normal hammer so I used 4lbs hammer, which is tad heavier than normal.

I have been using also sit up bench I got, every day I do morning and evening crunches or whatever those are, I'm feeling bit of soreness from that, so I guess it is working.

Visited also on elderly man, who had issues with bicycle, took bicycle with me so that I can repair it.

Tomorrow it rains, so I guess that I need to cover that hole I made to roof.

I don't want you guys to have winter either. Your winters are just plain mean. I can't even imagine living with snow.

Today I went for a 20 min jog. I just felt that I needed to lift my spirits a bit. Then I did my chest and triceps.

Keep going everybody :sheep:

JTbo whenever I read your posts I always think of movies like Into The Wild, your life sounds like it would make a good survival movie. Are you really getting yellow leave already? Summer feels like it's going to be over before it even starts here. This must be our wettest summer ever.

Today I rode my bicycle for about 30 minutes, then dragged and rolled two big chunks of tree trunk into the enclosure. I'm going to make the kitties a rustic style scratching post.

Yeah, yellow leaves are falling, about same time I think than last year, but it is not yet big like how it will be in autumn, about month left of what can somewhat called summer, then it is autumn.

I did ask old farmer about this yellow leave stuff and he suspected that it might be some sort of fungus because it has been really wet summer, my lawn squirts water when I walk on lower part of yard, too much water. Also many plants are getting weak, they tend to fall down as structural integrity fails, too much water.

Oh yes, it was raining today, there is now puddle of water on attic of building where I was fixing roof, I could make only partially water proof emergency repair last evening, today it has been raining all the time.

Here summer hasn't really started and it is very soon going to be too late for summer to come, it is different this summer, that is for sure.

3 x 10 pushups at morning, sides were bit sore so I thought I give little more recovery time before doing those situps again. I think certain struggle develops character :)

No workout today, but we went swimming for a while. It's so hot and we wanted to get out of the heat so we went to the indoor pool.

Been slacking off lately
I finally hauled myself to the fitness center today for 2.3 miles on the treadmill. I should break my personal best step of 24,014 by bedtime

1 hour and 55 minutes of bicycling.

MaxHR was 178 and Average HR was 125, Average speed was 17.5km/h.

I simply could not reach higher heart rate, I did try though, very hard, as much as I could.

I like pushing hard, I like it way too much, as I should be doing fat burning instead of endurance fitness training.

After bicycling I did 3 x 10 pushups, which was really hard to do compared to yesterday as mountain biking on uneven surface requires also arm strength too, most of my cycling was on crushed stone and also some were bit muddy paths that car can't use, so my arms were tired already.

Now I have little itch to ride another 2 hour bicycle trip, but I think that I do that tomorrow if weather permits.

New heart rate monitor has nice feature, it keeps kind of diary, so I can see how much I have done during the week and what is average workout time etc.

It is now Thursday and I have around 6 hours of exercise logged for this week, if all goes according to my plan I will get 8 to 9 hours for this week's totals.

I found this kind of site that has training plans:
http://www.navy-prt.com/trainingplan.html

I find those to be bit too difficult for me, but maybe some day I will be able to do such trainings too.

30 minutes of mowing lawn, it is not very light task as that lawn is in a hill.

Average heart rate was 124, which is almost aerobic training zone instead of fat burning zone.

Rick and I walked 1.6 miles tonight.

And my old Fitbit finally completely bit the dust, so I lost those 1.6 miles. Thankfully, I was able to connect the new Flex to my account without any trouble, so I'm good.

I was kind of lazy yesterday. I spent the morning finishing the enclosure I made for Happy, my latest rescue cat and was planning to go for a walk in the afternoon. Just as I was about to leave it started pouring, so I spent my time vacuuming and mopping the floors instead.

It's a lovely day today, I'm calling around some friends to see if any one wants to go for a hike. If not, I'll go on my own.

2 hours and 20 minutes bicycling, around 37km with average heart rate which was 70% of HRmax.

Average speed was 16km/h, which I consider quite fast for soft gravel roads as there were quite long climbs.

I was pushing too hard perhaps, not so sure, but I did reach my HRmax few times.

After bicycle ride, I did also ride to shop, which adds 10km via route I used, then I did situps and pushups.

I don't get sore legs easily these days, year or two ago I stopped to get sore legs from bicycling from some reason, I can ride as hard as I like and there seem not to be too much soreness. Legs are just bit weaker for day or two after hard bicycling.

Reducing 30lbs of weight would require going slower and longer on bike ride, but my rear end seems not to accept that.

I went for a really nice hike on Friday. 3 hours from Lake Sai to The Dragon Caves. It's about 300 meters further down hill from where I live and it was so humid, not a breath of wind in the forest. It was so nice to get to the caves and make the most of the natural AC, cool air drifting up from deep underground.

Worked all day Saturday so did nothing active. Worked most of Sunday but managed a 90 minute walk after I finished.

Going to do yoga now.

I picked Robin up. Down. Up. Down.

Meanwhile, my horrible pseudo-bike is gathering dust. I bought it off Craigslist, and it looked great. It's supposed to be an elliptical but really, it's like riding a bike, the way you do when you bike up a hill....
I keep telling myself that because I walk 1.8 miles each way to work, I get all the excercise I need, but truthfully my poor body is weighed down by at least 50 excess pounds of lard.

I swear, Norachan, if I lived where you do, I'd only be home long enough to sleep. Beautiful!! My area has train tunnels, though. Close enough to a cave, in a way, but you have to walk through crime infested areas just to get there. Most people ride bikes, but I can't afford a bike right now. (Whiney excuse, huh?)

You guys put me to shame with everything you do. There are days when I'm thankful just to get my treadmill in.

2.8 miles walking outside on Saturday night with Rick.

3.5 miles on the treadmill this morning.

I did 1 hour and 30 minutes of wood chopping with 65% of my max heart rate. Kind of full body workout, when I lift 3ft long logs up into air and ram against rock on ground, there is wedge between log and rock, so logs split easily.

I weighted one log and it was 25kg/55lbs, there were heavier and lighter than that.

Also forgot to mention that before bicycle ride I did 3 x 10 pushups and some situps. I'm not fine with doing situps, it feels really weird backside of my hip, like if there would be some loose parts moving around, making weird clunk sounds. I might be at loss of screw or two, but I doubt those are fallen there.

I felt like using a scythe a little bit, to get grass for cats and cut down areas that lawnmower can't cut, so I did swing scythe for about an hour, it makes my breathing going quite well after short while.

Then I did another 3x10 pushups.

Also did 2x20 13lbs barbell workout.

I guess today's totals are close to 4 hours.

Tomorrow will be interesting day as I start to build a roof, I hope that I will not fall, but also hopefully I can keep good pace so that I will get lot of sweat out.
