Mowing is a good work-out, I think, as long as I push-mow and don't ride. There is some force there, too, to push the mower while I'm walking.

Excellent work, everybody! Norachan, I could just see me even trying to get into that pose....um, it wouldn't be pretty.
Columbine, I hope you feel better. Tammat, I'm proud of you for going when you didn't want to go!

3.50 miles walked during lunch today.

OK, I'm going to say something here. I've PMed with Tammat. We haven't heard anything from JTbo in quite a while and the last we knew there was a really bad migraine involved. I'm a little concerned. JTbo, if you're out there, would you please check in? You can PM me if you want. It's been a while since you've posted anything. We just hope that you're OK.

Wow!! Good exercising everybody
Columbine in Australia a lot of accommodation has signs up saying that if it is not left clean and tidy there will be a cleaning charge. It's usually $150. I think that's fair enough. Some people are very disrespectful of other people's property.
Norachan that pose looks awesome. Let us know when you master it. I love having a goal to work towards.
Yesterday I did the shortened version of chest, biceps and triceps.
Today I did back and shoulders with Rohan.
I'm feeling tired and burnt out so I'm having 2 days rest and then next week I will only do weights 3 days. More reps and lighter weights and cardio to burn some of the extra fat I have gathered ;)
I'm looking forward to the change and I sure can't wait for my favourite jeans to be comfortable again.

Did a bit more cleaning. Ran into a possible issue with the shower drainage :sigh: Guests due tomorrow. Hope it can be resolved in time. Tammat - I love the idea of a cleaning surcharge  Wish we had that over here.

Mucked out etc. Collie got an extra big groom, then we had arguments over why she couldn't have her dinner (the vet was coming), why she had to stand still (vet checking her breathing - seasonal asthma), why the vet had to touch her ears (she won that one - dragged me halfway down the yard), why I had to touch her ears (because she wouldn't let the vet do it). Then I had to explain to her that the microchip scanner wasn't a pony-eating monster

Needless to say, I'm tired now. My new mission is to get Collie moving more...all the spring grass is spoiling her figure!

tammat tammat enjoy your rest days - you've definitely earned them

Winchester Winchester Thanks - I'll be ok once things calm down a bit (I hope). I just need a week off to sort myself out a bit.

Norachan Norachan I'm curious - how do you go about structuring your own yoga practice? I'm so used to working off dvds that I've forgotten how. I love kundalini, but you're inspiring me to mix things up a bit, especially while I haven't the energy to commit to a 40 day practice (in kundalini, it's common to do the same set and meditation for 40 days).

Everyone's doing great

It's not pretty when I do it. I keep face planting into my yoga mat.

@Columbine  I've taken lots of yoga classes before but now I live in the middle of nowhere I just do it by myself, using routines I remember from class or get out of books or off DVD's. If I want to add something new I just look it up on the internet.

I thought I'd be able to do Peacock Pose as it's an arm balance but it uses different muscles to crow or firefly pose. It's something about the muscles going from your armpit to the bottom of your rib cage.

One hour on my bike and then 1 hour of yoga yesterday. Got to build up those arm pit muscles.

Just off on my 1 hour feed-the-ferals walk now.

Thanks for the tips Norachan Norachan Planting your face into the mat, now what does that remind me of?.....Me when I was trying to master crow pose :lol3: Just be careful Norachan - I don't want to hear you've got a black eye from a yoga injury ;) That pose does look amazing though. Good luck with it. I'm sure you'll get there.

Finished cleaning the cottage this morning :jive: So glad that's out of the way...for now, anyway.

Mucked out etc this afternoon. Should have at least lunged Collie, but didn't have the time or the energy. It was a gorgeous day today too. Hopefully tomorrow will be as nice. Must get that pony moving more.

Me again. Schooled Collie for 40-45mins (she's discovered the art of creative disobedience - I ask for one move (say, preparatory stages of piaffe), and she gives me a different move (say, perfect shoulder in but with a very exaggerated angle) Very funny, but slightly annoying :lol3: )

Mucked out etc afterwards. Mum's back is finally better, so I'm getting a day off tomorrow (maybe Tuesday too) :D

Good work everyone. I think Collie's got you wrapped around her little hoof @Columbine

I walked for almost 2 hours yesterday and did 90 minutes of yoga this morning. I think this new pose is going to take a while to master. I asked Mr Husband if he could do it. He's a climber, very wiry, only weighs about 10 lbs more than I do and spends all his free time clinging to a rock face with his finger tips. He could get into the pose, but needed a wall to balance against.

I'm doing Dolphin pose to build up me upper body strength. The one good thing about it is that after trying that pose headstand and handstand seem so easy, almost like a resting position.

Well done Norachan  keep going.

I did more HIIT cardio today. Running and sprinting with exercises thrown in here and there. 35 mins. It's been over 7 weeks since I last ran. It was tough. My sprints weren't exactly sprints but I didn't give up I just did the best I could. This week has been a rude shock :lol3:

today I did my Tri sets again. During cardio weeks I only work each muscle group once instead of twice a week. Today was back, triceps and shoulders. 3 exercises for each, slightly lighter weights with 12 reps. Instead of a rest between sets I did 1 min exercises. Back/ lunges, triceps/ squats, shoulders/ jump squats then to finish I did I min box squat jumps. :woohoo:
That was a suggestion from Rohan. The way he says these things makes them sound fun and easy :lol3:

Keep going everybody. :sheep: it's good for us.

So I found out that lunges and squats are strength exercises not cardio so they won't help with the fat burn.
I did 20 mins of tabata as well.
Now I am done.

Yesterday I did a lot of cleaning, inside the house and out, then walked for an hour.

Today I did an hour of yoga and then about 30 minutes on my bike. I love this warmer weather, really makes me keen to get out and keep moving.

I did HIIT cardio again today. Lots of circuits with Rohan. I am pleased to say that my cardio fitness is coming back quickly. I feel great today and it was more enjoyable. Well it wasn't as torturous anyways :lol3:

Keep going everybody :sheep:

An hour of yoga and an hour of walking today.

I'm tired, didn't get a lot of sleep. We've got a new semi-feral who will hopefully be staying here permanently if she settles in well. At the moment she's very vocal about being kept under house arrest.

How's everyone been doing this weekend?

I walked for about 2 hours on Friday, did my one hour feed-the-ferals route on Saturday and about 90 minutes walk this evening. I'm going to get back into the yoga tomorrow.

The new cat is settling in well, lets me pick her up and hug her and comes to sit on my lap whenever she can, but wails like a banshee when I shut her in a room on her own at night. Man, is she loud!

How's everyone been doing this weekend?
I'm on Day 5 of a global walk challenge my company is partcipating in
Day 1 started well with over 18,000 steps. Day 2 was just a little bit more. Day 3 I went over 20,000 steps
, partly  because I decided to take the bus part way home and walk the rest of the way. But yesterday I barely logged more than 13,000 steps, even though I did have to work and I did walk down the stairs at work from the top floor (6th) to the lobby
Might not get as many steps in today either. I tend to be a slug on weekends

Motivation that has always been a problem for me and hubby
But recently we joined a no judgment type of gym cause they have comfy recumbent bikes I can use while powering/charging my own Ipad lol!! I like their dance classes too! Normally it is all about aerobics but this place literally has a fun dance class twice a week
That and the fact that about the main room entrance it says "Judgment free zone" Made me smile!

My couple of days off turned into a full week off :anon: I keep trying to get back into things and failing :sigh: Once again, my body is working against me.

However...my riding instructor is back this week :jive: :hyper: :D (you'd never guess that I've missed her would you ? ;) ), and we've got two lessons booked in. That takes care of two days next week. Collie really is need of some more work after her extra holiday :lol3:

Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to yoga again too :cross: I think I'm in need of an almighty kick up the bum to get me moving again :lol3:

The rest of you put me to shame. Keep going everyone
