Toby's eye infection seems to be better.

He's had pink, sticky eyes for the past few weeks and the eye drops and cream we got from the vet took forever to work. But this morning he's looking all bright eyed for the first time in two weeks.

Recent blood work (after a tentative diagnosis of Raynaud's Syndrome) was normal and I'm delighted to see an 85 for my blood sugar - even though I had blood work not long after breakfast.  I've been prediabetic for years, and I'm glad to see it's staying that way or resolving at last.

We awakened this morning....and it wasn't snowing. (We were in the forecast for 1-3 inches today)

My namesake at the shelter, 5 - 6 months old, wouldn't let anybody at the shelter touch her for three months, unlike her sister, who's gradually warmed up to people and loves pats. I've been bribing "The Beast" (her nickname ever since she bit the shelter head, and used to distinguish her from me) with treats, and we've finally had a breakthrough. She rubbed her head against my hand this morning, then let me pet her. When I tried again three hours later, she actually purred!:clap::clap:

Our son called tonight and said he is flying home for a visit! As great as that is, its not the best news he had for us. He works for a major aerospace company in Alabama, and told us that he'll soon be transferred to Cape Canaveral, FL for 6 mos. But now, here's where it gets really good. After that, he'll be permenantly transferred to the company HQ here in Denver. His mom and I-- and even Harley up there in the corner-- are ecstatic!

Today we got a freezer. Yay!!! now I can have plenty of pre cooked healthy meals on hand for my family and lots of portion controlled meals for me to help me keep on track with my training and fat loss. I can buy foods on special and save $$$. Oh the positives are endless. I love my freezer :lol3:

That's wonderful! Bless her heart!

It's Friday and that means a weekend is coming up.

New kitty come home this year, and my fiancee and I are working through immigration. Chances are slim for this year, but if we're really lucky  we may just be tying the knot in 2015 :)

In Australia our longest school break is between the end of December and the start of February. After several years I have learnt not to bother too much with the housework. I just do the basics. This is the second week that my kids are back at school and I'm slowly getting my house clean and tidy. It feels wonderful.

I have the best vet in the world!

Forest hasn't been well for the past few days, off his food and spending nearly the whole day asleep. I noticed when he jumped down from his bed to use the litter box he seemed really shaky and weak.

We took him to the vet this morning but when we got there it was closed. I forgot today is a national holiday.
Luckily his kids were playing outside so one of them ran off to get his Dad.

Our vet opened up the clinic for us, checked Forest over. (He had a fever of over 40C, no wonder the poor boy was feeling rough) He then put him on a drip, gave him an injection to bring his fever down and a course of antibiotics and gave us a can of AD food to try and encourage him to eat.

Then he said we didn't need to pay anything because his receptionist wasn't there and he couldn't be bothered to turn on the computer and the cash register. We tried to insist but he just said, never mind, we can talk about it next time.

By the time we got Forest home he was looking much brighter and ate his lunch without any trouble.

I love our vet.

Wow! So many nice positives here!

We've been going through a few weeks of so many things breaking that it's been tough to look at the positives. I've got kind of an odd one though. I was looking through our taxes last night and I think we are going to end up paying a fair amount this year, where we normally get a refund. As I said to my husband though, at least we have it in the bank and can afford pay. There are so many people that can't.

I got to sleep all night. You don't realize how great that is until you can't sleep all night. I woke up every night for almost my entire pregnancy and Hudson isn't a good sleeper so I'm usually up 2-10 times a night. He slept all night last night.

Today I will start the prototype for my new feral cat shelters. The design will hold the most heat and be collapsible. I have it in mind for me ofcourse but all the colony caregivers who have to trek through woods and fill their cars up with supplies. I haven't seen anything like it and if it works I will share the design. Tired of all these plastic totes already!

We had a couple of kid free hours this evening. We had dinner and shopped for a new bed. We picked one and will have it in a few weeks. I can't wait.

I'm really having trouble with my anxiety and depression right now, but my girlfriend still manages to put a smile on my face every day.

So she's my positive thing that's in my life
