There is so much gloom and doom out in the world right now that many people are focusing on the negative and not the positives. So let's think about the positives for a minute. What's one positive thing that's happened to you in the past 24 hours?

For me, I welcomed the New Year with my husband.

That works! Rick and I were back in bed last night watching movies. I had Mollipop in my left arm and Muffin in my right. BooBoo was lying on top of Rick. Tabby was snuggled in at my hip. And even Ms. Pepe and Amber Louise joined us in bed for about an hour or so.

Every once in a while, Molli would reach over to Rick and touch his arm, so that he would talk to her and caress her. Then she'd purr.

It doesn't get any better than snuggling with the guy (and the cats!) you love.

Our cats let us sleep until 7:30 am!

For this, we were both both happy and grateful

Billy, one of the feral cats at the shelter, isn't acting much like a feral with me any more. A couple of weeks ago he let me touch him for the first time, and he now follows me around the ferals' enclosure. This morning he put his front paws on my leg while I was cleaning their feeding room and didn't even flinch when I pet him.

My son is sleeping in his crib in his own room and we have the bedroom back to ourselves now that the bassinet is out of there.

The furniture that I'm painting is going well! (Usually, I make a mess of it ; I HATE painting!). After being so sick for over 2 weeks, and not having a very jolly vacation, I now am feeling back to normal, so I hope to have the dresser and the headboard done today. I'm re-doing the guest room. We've lived here for 10 years, and I've never really done anything nice with the room, so it's getting a total re-haul!

I agree!  That's how we spent our evening--snuggled up with kitties by a nice fire, toasting the new year with a glass of champagne--a peaceful and lovely way to bring in the new year.

Swanie has perked up (grieving for his friend Darcy) and we have a beautiful tortie cat on reserve at the shelter, just waiting to get spayed.  DH and I are pretty much over our colds, and the sun is shining.

Great thread idea! Love reflecting on positives! :)

For me, this year will be a great one: starting my first teaching contract (starts on Monday), teaching grade 2/3, and I'm getting married in September!! We're very excited about 2015 :wavey:

Unfortunately, our kitty woke us up at normal breakfast time = 6am hahaha

Remember that migraine headache that started last Wednesday morning before Christmas? Well, today is the first day that I've felt like doing much of anything. The headache is pretty much gone now, thankfully, and it only took about 9 days to completely clear out. I still have twinges now and then, but most of it is gone.

I got an e-mail from my brother with lots of pictures of my sweet little nephews, aged 18 months and 5 years, playing on the beach on Christmas Day. They are so pretty! Hope I get to meet them one day. (We live in different countries)

Just what I needed to cheer me up.

Nothing like lovely young children to lift the spirits.  So much potential.

Oh Mani! Enjoy your stay there! It sounds absolutely divine!

I feel good this morning. I got out of bed and hit the treadmill and life is good!

Domino's urinalysis came back good.
Keeping him on cd for now but in the future he may be able to come off.
He is such a social cat now that we have a big place. He used to live in a bathroom by his choice. And I'm sure the cystotomy helped him too.
