Ali is loosing the fur under her bottom lip down into her neck and I have read this is due to long term prednisone use.
She has been on prednisone for almost 6 months now due to feline auto immune disease and without it she would have died.
We have been weaning her off slowly and she is down to 2 and 1/2 mgs-1/2 a five mg tablet.
We see our vet on Friday and I hope it is just a reaction to long term prednisone use and not a sign of something else connected to the disease that almost killed her.
The problem with this is that it can pop back up at any time and if it gets her kidneys nothing can be done except to let her go to set her free of the pain it would put her in.
She has none of the signs of kidney disease or a UTI, so we remain optimistic it is the long term prednisone use.
