Ok so I have a 4 year old cat that about 5 days ago started having blood in her stools. It seems to be at the end of the stool, and it's not a lot. Other then that she has no other problems. She goes to the bathroom the same amount that she used to, no diaria, no apparent pain, she eats normal, drinks, plays. Now we do have a new kitten (for about 3 weeks now) and she keeps sneaking in and eating the kittens food so I strongly believe that the problem was caused by eating two differnt foods back and forth. Plus I switched her own food about to two weeks ago from Halo to Wellness weight control. (She's 14 pounds)Do I take her to the vet? Will the bet just tell me it's because she's eating differnt foods? Help please

It's always worth a trip to the vet, but try not to worry, as this tends to be a very common occurrence with cats. My cat had exactly the same issue a couple of years back and the vet gave her an anti-inflammatory shot, she had not further issues.

One thing, though, stress can sometimes cause blood to appear in the stool. My cat developed it just a couple of days after we were looking after a kitten for a friends for a few days. The presence of the kitten really upset my cat, even though I kept them apart. Then suddenly, blood in the stool. Could your cat be stressed about the new kitten?

I don't think she is stressed about the kitten, I feel like she loves the kitten. They play all the time and she licks him and cuddles sometimes
