I want to adopt this stray but I'm allergic to cats. Not severely but sneezing runny nose itchy eyes.. I read online that 75% of allergy sufferers don't react to siberian cats. I'd love to take him home after a vet visit. I'm going to see him tomorrow to see if I react to him.

Possibly, but not sure.  Perhaps even - not very probable.

Also, you cant hang yourself on a hopeful identification online...

Do as you are planning: go there, sniff on him.  If the reaction isnt too bad, there are lotsa tricks to make him go along with you.  After all, lotsa of allergic cat owners do manage being with their cats.    And you dont have severe asthma, so...   :)

Among the tips, is to let him bathe every tenday.  Ideally if you learn him swim...

Brushing off his fur and helding it in top shape helps.  Perhaps if somebody else can do the brushing?

Brushing him with a wetted towel is quite efficient if he doesnt like to bathe, or you get an allergic visitor shortly after.

Have clean air in your home - air out, or have an air cleaner with a HEPA filter in.   Make sure you dont have unnecessary dust.  Make sure the litter is dust free.  Perhaps made of wood, not the classical baked clay.

And so on...

Good luck!

I'm going to say no to your question. His face-shape doesn't scream Siberian to me, and I should know as a siberian cat breeder. I would sooner guess he's partly a norwegian forest cat, mixed with whatever. Also, his ears seem folded which might indicate that the American Curl could be in his lines.

Thanks for the help! I actually think his ears are party frost bitten that's why they seem so short from extreme weather where I live although you can't really tell in the picture
