Vomitting and excessive drooling?

My cat, Melia, is two years old and the sweetest thing in the universe.  She sometimes has a habit of throwing up her food after eating too fast and then running around playing fetch afterwards, but it hasn't been too big of an issue and she doesn't seem to be affected by it much at all .  I went to work this morning and came back to relax.  A couple of hours later, I heard vomitting noises and went to go check on her and make sure she was okay - I like to make sure that both of our cats are feeling okay after they get sick.  She threw up twice - the first time was a thin, clear yellow-y liquid and the second was the same but with some food in it as well.  I wasn't too worried and didn't think anything of it until she came up and began to cuddle with me that I noticed she was drooling a LOT.  She never drools, so I knew this was unusual and began searching for causes and what to do to no avail. A couple of hours later, she threw up again - this time with no food in it and just the clear, yellow-y liquid.  She seems to be acting fine and normal - she has been jumping around between her favourite places in the apartment and has been drinking water.   I am not sure if she got into anything she shouldn't have or ate something that she shouldn't have...

The biggest problem for me right now is that I do not have the means to take her to the vet .  The only money that I have available to me is part of our rent money for this coming month and I cannot take from that as my boyfriend and I don't make a lot of money.  There is an emergency vet clinic not far from our house, open all the time, but they require immediate payment and I am not quite sure what to do when I cannot afford to take her to the vet...

Any and all advice or insight is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

The drooling combined with the vomiting is a concern to me.  Maybe she ate something that she shouldn't have.  This time of year there can be a lot of hazards for cats to get into (plants, tinsel etc.)

The only way you are going to know what is going on is to get her into a vet which is what I would highly recommend.  There are vets that will accept a payment plan if the emergency vet is not an option due to their payment policy.

It sounds like she ate something that was bitter or that she shouldn't have eaten. She really does need to see a vet if she continues to vomit yellow bile this is not normal. i would make sure you scan your apartment for possible things she may have gotten into. I have had the drooling reaction before with my cat when I gave her awful tasting medicine or when she has tried to groom herself and got advantage(flea drops) in her mouth due to me putting it too far down on her body. It's scary looking I know but with mine it was a one time thing and lasted about 15 minutes. If this is more than a one time thing you need to get her to a vet. Usually local humane societies have clinics that are very low cost you may want to check if you have one.

Thank you both very much!

We did wind up taking Melia to the vet last night after my boyfriend got home from work.  He bought me some flowers for Christmas that turned out to be pretty poisonous to cats if they injested them, so we got quite a bit more worried after finding that out and decided that it would be the best thing to just take her to the vet immediately.  Was going to wait until morning to see a cheaper vet, but we wanted to make sure that she wasn't going to get worse.  The vet did some bloodwork and found out that she wasn't poisoned or anything like that, so that's good.  They think that she probably ate something she shouldn't have and it was making her stomach upset, which caused the excessive drooling.  They gave her some anti-nausea medication and some fluids to keep her hydrated and we've been watching her since and she hasn't vomitted since.  We've been slowly introducing her back into food and water to keep her nausea down all night.  This morning she hasn't been drooling and actually had a little bit of an appetite, so that is very encouraging.

Luckily, we were able to apply for CareCredit and get accepted immediately so we didn't have to pay anything up front and can pay over the course of the next six months.

That's wonderful that you got her into the vet and she is going to be okay!  I'm so happy for your update!
