So my cat has had pretty bad smelling gas as long as we've had him. He smells like a walking litter box sometimes, he doesn't seem sick, very playful and energetic! He's had gas since he was 8 weeks old and he's now 6 months. Some days it's worse than others, is he just a smelly kitty or is it maybe he's eating something that's making him sick? Our two cats have been trying to get into our garbage a lot lately but I'm not sure what it could be. He eats very healthy and he's been dewormed

One of our cats was very gassy and smelly when we adopted her. That problem (as well as some occasional vomiting) pretty much stopped for good when we took all the foods with potato and potato starch out of her diet. We've also gotten rid of peas and pea products, though I'm fairly certain potato was at the root of her problem.

Lots of foods, both wet and dry, use starchy fillers like potato and peas, so it can be hard to figure out exactly what causes gas. I think I've also read that some people think carrageenan, another ubiquitous ingredient these days, causes gas. We limit that, too, particularly since the cats are Siamese mixes and thus prone to digestive mishaps.

Good luck!
