My parents moved to Texas and had to leave their older cats behind. 2 cats, 14 and 11. My husband and I bought their house and "inherited" the cats. They figured that with their age moving them to a hotter climate may not be for the best (we're in Wa), and since they are at the end of the typical lifespan, it may be too stressful.
So, here's the situation...our neutered 4 year old cat keeps spraying and peeing on the oldest cat. I have never seen or heard of this before. I have no idea what to do. They got along before we moved in and they were introduced slowly. The older cat does have health issues and has problems with his bladder and bowels at times. (The vet says it's just age and to make him comfortable until he passes) So, I can understand my cat marking his territory when this happens, but to actually pee on the oldest cat?!
Any help or ideas on what to do would be great. Thank you.
