I have not used the reptile litter but I have used the Blue Buffalo walnut litter.  When I was running one of our local Petco adoption centers, it was absolutely the best litter to use for controlling odors in that small space.  While it is not inexpensive, it was certainly worth its price, and as a bonus, because it was naturally brown, it made the boxes "look clean" all the time even before we got there to clean each day.  Since the reptile bedding is also walnut, I would suspect it has the same qualities.  Try it and let us know.

I agree. I use Blue Buffalo and the price is worth it.  The old clay/pine litters I used stuck to the bottom of the pan and I had to dump the whole pan every week and clean out.  With Blue everything comes out and I just have to add some more in. I go through so much less litter and my house does not have that perfume smell that clay gives off while still being fresh. Let us know on the other.  I have never seen it, but I do not have reptiles so I do not go in that section.

Am I correct that this has no added scent? How about the reptile litter?

I have family members who are allergic to artificial scents, and I have congenital anosmia (i.e. I was born with no sense of smell), so I can't check it out myself.

BTW, I just checked checked the reviews on the reptile litter link, and the twelfth one states that it clumps like Tidy Cat.

I use the multi-cat and there is no scents added. There are no scents in the quick clumping either.  There are some BB that are scented, but I have never used them.

Thanks. I'll ask PetCo about the lizard litter, since it's only available online. Customer service should know.

I used the Blue Buffalo and loved it.

The cats loved it too.

Great at keeping the smell down and clumped amazing.

I just couldn't keep affording it with how much litter I go through. :(

I'd be curious to know if the lizard litter is the same thing too myself. Keep us posted!

Same thing, as in identical? Well, it's certainly from a different company. Functionally the same, however, apparently so. It may be ground to a diferent fineness, but the review says it clumps like Tidy Cat. Their web site, www.country.com, claims that it promotes natural digging behavior (speaking of reptiles, of course) without the dust of sand, and that it makes good garden compost. I just spoke with their customer service department, and it contains no scent. I believe I'll give this a try. It's fairly cheap, lighter than clay litter, frankly, it looks good.

Will do. I'll have to discuss it with my husband, but in the long run I believe it will be cheaper. The short run is the problem right now. We've had some major unexpected medical expenses lately, and there may be more on the way. We're cutting corners wherever possible right now.

Since I've never tried the Blue Buffalo I won't be able to do a proper product comparison for you, and I'll be checking Blue Buffalo's website for advice on how to make the switch. I believe that will take some time, so don't expect a review too soon.

Sorry about the medical expenses. I am sure it is the same thing, if you took a pic the only thing different would be how it is ground.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I spoke to an associate at Petco and she said the reptile litter is finer than the cat litter and doesn't have a clumping agent.

I ended up going with Yesterday's News! So far so good.

If your using Yesterday News you might as well go with the wood pellets.

You can use the pellets from a pellet stove and it's like 4 bucks for a 50 pound bag. It works good as long as your kitties will use it, some don't like it.

I don't know what a clumping agent is (aside from the obvious). I do know that I read the Zilla customer reviews, and one said that it clumps like Tidy Cat. In my book, that makes it worth a try.

Anne, thanks. I will, as soon as I have something to review.
