Good morning and Happy Friday!

Easy question this morning: Did you have a nice Christmas?

Other than my migraine (now on day 3 as of this morning, although it's not real bad today), we had a pleasant Christmas. Rick got up to feed the cats yesterday and let me sleep in for a while. We opened gifts, then had some cookies and hot chocolate for breakfast. It was just Rick's parents and my brother and SIL for our lasagna, so that made it nice. And easy, too.  It was a nice Christmas.

Yes. It was a quiet Christmas Day. Two of us with no kids or grandkids volunteered to do two shifts at the animal shelter. We got a very pleasant surprise when two more volunteers showed up unexpectedly to help out.

The cats got premium wet food for the holiday, and many of them seemed disappointed this morning when they didn't get it again for breakfast. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your migraine. I hope it's easing off now Christmas is over.
did you get some surprise presents?
I'm glad you had a good Christmas.
I did sing some Christmas carols!

Ooo, migraines. The ruination of way too may days, both special and not.  Off topic, but do you take any kind of medicine for them?  I used to get a lot of them, they've eased off in the past couple of years (getting older helped) but, I used to take Imitrex for them and it worked very well.  I still had to lay down and sleep it off for a while but almost 100% of the time I'd wake up a couple of hours later and be fine.  A bit loopy, but functional.

Glad to hear you were able to at least celebrate and that Rick let you sleep longer.  Best gift of all.

Our day was quiet.  We don't celebrate the holiday specifically  and the family who do celebrate are too far away so it was just Tom and I but I do always try and make something special for dinner.  Baked a ham and made homemade truffled mac and cheese.  Slept, watched movies, played with kitties.  Was a nice relaxing day.

@Winchester   Migraines are evil and I hope for you that this one passes soon.

Christmas day was nice for me.  I had my mother staying but also my two Italian housemates were here to add to the conversation and festivities.   We had a post midnight present opening session as the day started and left a few more for once we got up in the morning.   Then we opened the remains of our gifts and had some canape for brunch.   There were plenty of new balls and toy mice for Mouse to play with along with wrapping paper and ribbons to he provided most of the entertainment as usual.
For me and my mother the rest of the day was spent down at my brother and SiL's house with their 'kids' and SiL's parents.  None of us see each other very often so plenty of catching up chat along with a traditional dinner of turkey and vegetables, followed by far too many puddings!   I am relaxing and enjoying a quieter day today with just Mouse and my housemates at home.

Pam, I hope you are over the migraine now! I've gotten bad, 3-day headaches myself, ever since my teen years. Awful things.

My Christmas was ok. My friends and their dogs came over, but I really couldn't fully enjoy anything--I am still sick with the "cold" (which DH and I now think was flu). My nose is much better, but I got dizzy 3 times yesterday--in the shower, some other time, then, in the kitchen while I was getting ready for the guests, I dropped to the floor, and had to call for DH to help me. I've been sick for 2 weeks now, and feel kind of weak. I'm also on vacation, and have been sick the whole time. Still, it was a good Christmas, but I just felt detached from the enjoyment.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Not at all. We  didn't  have the money for a good Christmas and only had enough for 1 present for each of  my 2 grandkids. I felt like crap. Didn't even have a present for my daughter & son in law. So we went over to her house ate breakfast and then left cause she had to go pick up my grandson from work and go to the in laws for their Christmas. and yes they got better gifts than I could give them.' My son lives in Minnesota and I didn;t get to see him .

We had a great Christmas. Quiet, no misses on presents, best turkey ever. Rover Grover still sleeping off the turkey. Included Coch by placing her on the sideboard. Nice. A not so common green Christmas - felt wrong.

Migraines. Me too. Sounds strange, but sometimes I can blast smaller migraines out of my head by playing Heart cds really loud. It overwhelms what is going on in my head. It doesn't work for  lie down on the bathroom floor and hope to die migraines. Also, my doctor once explained to me his theory that sometimes if a migraine shifts or lessens the next day or the next next day but is still present, you may not still have a migraine, but a headache or a migraine hangover from having a blasted migraine in the first place.

It was nice and quiet. Just DD, the cats, the dog and me. I gave them their gifts (new beds for the kitties, a big bone for the dog and a gaming headset and new computer speakers for the DD). I pressure cleaned the screen room out back and fixed the latch on the door in there that goes to the outside so the kitties can go out there to explore. The dog doesn't want to. 5 minutes out and she's whining to come in

DD and I weren't really hungry when dinnertime rolled around so the shrimp I was going to make got skipped. We went to see The Hobbit at 11:00 last night and I picked up some chicken Mcnuggets before we went to the theater so we had those during the movie with our snacks. Going gourmet all the way.

It was okay, Just DH, Swanie, and me.  Still missing Darcy and Cindy.  DH and I both had/have colds so it was pretty low key.  We don't do gifts but did have a special meal and spoke to family on the phone.

I had a wonderful day!  I was exhausted from staying up very very late wrapping the night before; but still it was wonderful!  Christmas really is more magical with children around.  They don't believe in Santa (although we still watch Christmas movies with Santa and what not); but still they are so excited about the presents, the family, the cookies, decorations and seeing Christmas lights when we drive around.  DD loves the candle light service at church.  The teens and kids at church dramatized the Christmas story this year with a set that included lights, sound effects, a dance, some singing, etc.  It was wonderful for all of us; kids included.

It was just my mother, step-dad and my little family so it was a ultra relaxed day just enjoying each other.  My DD (almost 5) has been asking for a guitar since last spring.  My Mom and I always talk about what the kids are in need of or would like. They decided they would get her a guitar.  Well my Step-dad found her one.  A REAL guitar.  A PINK guitar.  It has hearts and everything.  That was the best reaction of the day.  She gasped, she shouted "A GUITAR!!" and jumped up and hugged my mother.  Mom about cried.  I took pictures but I should have gotten a video!

Now I have to teach her to play!  (It came with some instructions and I found some videos online.  Hopefully her hands are big enough to hold it!

I had a lovely Christmas, did most of it Christmas eve. Visited my parents after work on Christmas eve and exchanged with them. Then went home and was only going to let hubby open one of his gifts then i said lets just open them all! so he opened his. Then we gave the cats their collars. to my surprise none of them objected and they all seem to like their new "jewelry". They all look so much better with a collar! They also got this awesome toy from my mom, its like da bird, only its a squeaky mousy on the end of the line and the cats go nuts over it! My hubby got me a pink swarovski crystal heart necklace and a new computer speaker that i was needing for sometime now. We basically celebrated xmas eve and stayed up late talking and watching movies and playing with the cats. Slept in on xmas day and just went to visit my uncle and then relaxed the rest of the day cause i knew i had to be in work today. Definitely was a very nice xmas, 1st one in the new apartment, 1st one with the hubby, and Starkey's 1st christmas!
