I always love Christmas, but this year was great. My son got HexBugs, and the cats love them! He, of course, was kind enough to leave the track  set up for the cats until they lost interest, which took about 2hours :)

I suppose he didn't have much choice, because they climbed all over him trying to get at the bugs on the track lol, and they sat in his box so he couldn't see to change the track configuration.

for those of you who have no idea what Hexbugs are, I'll add a link...

I'm glad they liked the Hexbugs, because a few years ago, the kids got zhu zhu pets and the cats were terrified of them. We ended up having to get rid of them.

Sinbad and Tempest claimed the empty boxes and wrapping paper.  All new toys were ignored in favor of the packaging.

At one point, Sinbad managed to flip a box on top of himself, but he was so enraptured with the shredded wrapping paper he didn't even notice.

We had no sleep Christmas night due to wrapping paper and gift bags. midnight found some that we'd not put away and spent the night pouncing into them! It wasn't so bad, until he found the bag next to the bed, that we'd brought things home from family's houses in. I could very much do without cats playing next to my head while I try to sleep, thank you

All in all though, I'm glad they like Christmas....I know that it can be very stressful for some animals, so I enjoy the antics of my lot

Opposite scenario here--we got Hexbugs for the cats and they were thoroughly unimpressed!  So I gave the bugs to the grandson of a friend of ours.  He loved them.

I've never heard of hexbugs, but now I absolutely must try them!

Mogli loves hexbugs, but they definitely don't last long around here. After he pounces on them he smashes them against the nearest wall.

I think Mogli is quite a lad..

I don't think all cats will smash them.

:yeah: Mogli is a bit more destructive than your average cat. I have to buy his favorite toy mice by the dozen, and he tore up so many tablecloths that we gave up and had a piece of safety glass cut to fit our oak table. Otherwise he's perfect! :)

The first hexbugs I encountered were being sold by the Omaha Humane Society as cat toys. I don't think they had any with feathers, though.

I've seen pics of more than one cat mesmerized by hexbugs. I got aya a remote control mouse which seems to have stopped working after one evening of entertainment.

Our rainbow bridge kitty, Gracie, would go mental with the wrappings, jumping and pouncing and wrapping herself in so much curling ribbon we'd all laugh hysterically (this was all very supervised of course).

My rainbow bridge kitty, Sassy, wouldn't let me wrap anything....as soon as the paper came out she laid on it, and refused to move, purring so loudly that I couldn't resist her :) Now she's my angel, and that's one of my favorite photos of her
