A month or so ago, I felt a small lump under Loki's front leg (under arm) area.  Having dealt with lumps before with our old schnauzer, I felt at it carefully.  It seemed to be just under the skin, and not really attached to anything.  So I figured I'd just keep a monitor on it to make sure it didn't get any bigger, which it hasn't.

The other day, I felt another lump in an area a bit lower on the ribcage.  That set off a little bell, so I searched him carefully.  That's when I discovered that the previous lump was not where I remembered it being.  So, it seems that his lump has traveled a bit.  It's still just under the skin, not really attached, same size, just... in a new spot.

I'll most likely be taking him to the vet, but was wondering if y'all had any ideas what this might be.  I'd like to be able to ask the vet the appropriate questions and have a reasonable conversation with her.

Is Loki microchipped? How big is the lump? If it's about the size of a rice kernel, it could be that the chip has moved. That's rare, but it happens.

He is, but the lump is a bit bigger than that... just a little smaller than a dime.  Unless his body built up a "cocoon" around it?
