i rescued a stray cat a few wks ago and she is pregnant, i took her 2 the vets last week n they said that she is pregnant n that she only has a couple of weeks 2 go....All lastnight it sounded like she was talkin rather than meowing and 2day all day she is doing the same and restless, when will i know she is ready 2 give birth and is this a sign plz Her teats aint out yet but she cleaning herself more than usual

I've had a bad experience once when the kitten was too big to come out (or not in the correct position, I'm not sure), so the mama cat had the 1-2 days where she was behaving completely different such as for several hours laying down but looking like maybe she was trying to give birth and push kitty out. I've previously witnessed 3 successful times over the years my cats giving birth at home so I didn't expect this other time to be different but it was when taking to the vet to avoid complications would have helped.

If they didn't come out naturally and there were signs that it should have happened, then best to visit the vet again. Good luck and enjoy the kitties!

It sounds like she is getting very close to giving birth. If you can feel the babies moving in her stomach then she is at least 7 weeks along, but she can be much farther. Does it look like the babies have moved down or are they still up by her ribs? If it seems like they have moved down, it could be any moment. 

a few days ago she was bearing down and pushin, this went on for 25hrs, i called the vets and they said she was in the 1st stage of labour, its been a few days now and still no sign of kittens and her labour has totally stopped, the vet said on xmas eve that cats can sometimes stop their labour out of stress, she is ok tho she cleaning a lot but no sign of  any labour starting again, she aint in any discomfort or stress she is just normal and very cuddly, not sure when she will start again, the vet said she sounds like she has pushed them in2 the birth canal andjust 2 keep my eye on her and if she gets stresed or in pain 2 take her But nothing happening now, comments welcome as this is my 1st cat (my baby) lol just wondering if any1 else has had this with their cats I dont know wat 2 do as no sign TY

her babies are movin u can see them, her tummy is much bigger not sure about the positioning tho

I don't want to be too negative but for my case that I described above: the day after her first unsuccessful pushing attempt, then she was extremely slow, looked sad, didn't eat/drink for a day. I took her to vet at that point but it 'didn't look good'. So I would definitely be cautious, as you are.

In your case, as long as she seems active then I would trust the vet and wait for labouring again. Sounds like good news that she is not stressed and kittens are moving.

Your queen wont eat as much the closer she gets to giving birth. If she seem lethargic or if she does have a baby but the placenta isn't born after rush her to the vet. There should be a placenta with every kitten. There should be blood. but not to much. It should be more a little trickle almost.

I was so impatient. I just wanted them out! But when they came everything I knew about her giving birth went right out of my head, until she needed me that is is! 

No sign of babas yet, she went in labour last monday then its all stopped She looks like she is nestin last nite n the night b4 but still nothin

I hope it was some sort of precontractions.   They can pause in labor between kittens, but such long stops as here arent the usual...

Are you SURE nothing come out?  It could be a premature one, whom was deadborn and whom she immediately ate up.  In that case there were nothing left, perhaps just a few wet spots.  It could be enough with just a few minutes you were away.

If so, with any luck the others will come out healthy when their proper time has arrived.  Be sure she is stressfree as far as you can.

Go take her to the vet. It isn't normal for a cat to be in labor and then stop for an entire week. It does happen that labor stops, but a week in-between is extremely long. The kittens will continue to grow and eventually become too large for her to naturally give birth to.

If you are certain labor started a week ago and stopped, ask your vet to give her something to start contractions again. You can be sure she's carried them long enough to be healthy and ready to come.

ive been PDSA with her 2day 1min he sayin she not pregnant tha she is probz havin a phantom pregnancy then the next he was talkin about neutering her n destroyin the babies Im so confused so i booked in2 a private vets 4 a scan 2moz mornin, he was so horrible n didnt have a clue wot he was talkin about, all he kept sayin was 2 abort the kittens n neuter her, how can i abort the kittens if she aint pregnant VERY STRANGE so 2 be sure im payin private

You said you could see the kittens move. You won't see anything move if it's a phantom pregnancy.
