I have a friend that has a kitten, Daisy, about 6-7 months old who has a neurological problem in the hind end. She had been seen by a vet and placed on medications. She was find in his shed with a few other kittens only hours old. Her and her siblings were have raised by my friend and his family and everyone is thriving. Daisy was the runt and the noticed as she grew she wasn't using her back end. A trip to the vet confirmed that it was neurological.

She has turned into the most beautiful little girl who loves attention and loves to purr and explore. However.... She is completely incontinent due to the issue. They tested for URI but that was rolled out. While the kitten is thriving and happy and very much loved her incontinence has left her secluded in a child's pen lined with a tarp and blankets when no one is home. She is eating, drinking, and as happy as any of the others. Even the vet is pleased with the light in her eyes. She is a fighter with heart.

They have tried premie diapers and even a onesie to hold it on but since she drags her hind end the diaper doesn't stay put and she wiggles from the onesie. They are looking into a wheel chair for her but they are trying to come up with something that will allow her to be out and about without making a mess. Chair or no chair. They are doing laundry double rooms trying to keep up with her bathroom problem.

They have no intention of getting rid of her but ANY ideas on what they can do to minimize the mess from the bathroom problem is welcome.

Is there anything they can put on her that will stay put when she isn't in her chair, mind you it will take a while to get one made for her, that will also contain a mess to the best possibility? She is tiny, adventurous, wiggly, and has almost no use of the hind end.

Thank you all for any suggestions to help this wonderful family and their angel!

There are actually incontinence diapers made for cats and kittens.  If you Google cat diapers you will get quite a list.  There is one link called "images for cat diapers" that shows alll sorts of styles.  There are even BIRD diapers there.

The Simple Solution X-Small dog size might work, available on chewy.com and probably other places as well.

There are also hand made ones for sale on Etsy, and I'm sure this person could make a custom size to fit this kitten if needed.  She makes an outer shell and you use pads inside.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/185776767

You should be able to find or create exactly what you need to keep this little guy happy throughout his life.

Hi Blackcat!  It's so nice of you to post in regards to your friend's kitten.

Here is a video of people who have a paralyzed cat called Pookie and how they help him to pee:

There is also the manually expressing his bladder/bowels.

Her vet can show her how it's done.

That way no diapers, no diaper rash, no mess!

Ah that's what it's called! (manually expressing bladder) - didn't know how to describe it (it's shown in the video posted above).
