I'm going to ask that this be moved to the Breeders section, you might get answers from experienced breeders there.

I would strongly advise getting her spayed regardless of whether she is purebred or not.

There is a disease unspayed cats and dogs get called pyometra. It is absolutely deadly. My family had a small dog with a heart condition. We were advised not to get her spayed as she could die during surgery.  She got pyometra and never woke up after surgery.  Without emergency surgery there is no hope of survival. Pyometra is very deadly.

The surgery is very expensive to try and save your pet if they get pyometra. There was someone on a forum who was devastated when her cat got it, as she could not afford the surgery to save her cat's life.

Please consider spaying your cat, as that is the most effective way to prevent pyometra.

If you wish to have kittens, please consider fostering. Regular kill shelters put down any kittens under 8 weeks old. If you wish to save a life, the best thing you can do is foster a baby kitten.

Where are you located? In most countries there are so many cats without homes, both purebred and domestic, that we strongly encourage owners to spay and neuter their cats. The only exceptions are registered breeding programmes, where specialists are trying to improve their chosen breeds and preserve gene pools. It takes a lot of experience and money to do this, and it is not for the fainthearted.

But to give you some information that may be helpful, cats do not have 'periods' like human females. They come into heat when they are sexually mature, when they become very affectionate, roll around the floor, arch their backs and cry a lot. They will also do anything to get out of the house to find a mate, any mate. Persians can be later than other breeds to achieve maturity, but it is normally between 6 months and a year, though this is flexible. You will need to be very careful that she does not go off and find her own mate, as stray cats carry disease and may also hurt her during mating.
