HI I posted before that my cat started on Prednisolone about a week ago and now his breathing seems labored.  Over the last 24 hours I've decided I'm not imagining things and so I should stop giving it to him and take him to the vet.  My question is since he's only been on it about a week (1mm a day), do I need to taper it off or can I just stop.

That is such a small amount. At one point years ago I stopped giving it to Gizmo without tapering. Of corse sine then he went back on in the form of shots.

Why is he on the Pred? 1mg is a very  small dose.  maller than what would generally be considered therapeutic.

It's one milliliter once a day for IBD.  I forgot to mention that it's compounded in a liquid.  He has also been on metronidiazole  for 2 months, 2 milliters a day.  It says on the bottle that both are 5 milligrams per millileter.  So, assuming they compounded it correctly, he's getting 5 mg. per day and he weights 11.5 pounds.

I didn't give him any this evening.  He's walking around, but he definitely isn't himself.  His hair is standing up on the lower half of his body, which I've never seen before.

He usually gets up and runs to the toy box if I get up, but he's not doing that.  Like I said, definitely not himself, moving around like an old man (he's 18 months in a few days.)
