I've been reading quite a bit about this issue but I still feel like I haven't found a solution. My kitten is very hyper most the time, he is also an inside cat, and he plays really aggressively.
He can be quite lovey as well. He loves cuddling for a little while but if I do something to piss him off he goes right back to biting.
I've read that when cats are taken away too early they don't understand that biting hurts. Ive tried walking away when he acts like this, but he will relentlessly pursue me. I've tried spray bottles, tiring him out, treat training, negative reinforcement, positive reinforcement. But he doesn't stop. It seems like it only makes it worse.
He seems to be getting better though. When we first got him I was just covered in bites and scratches.
He's about four months old now.
I dont know of I absolutley have to get another cat to try and curb his behaviour before I'm stuck with it forever.
I love him to death but he's seriously driving me nuts.

The behavior reduces as they get older.

I've had good luck with just walking about and ignoring biting kittens.

Is there anyway you could get your little one a friend? It kind of sounds like he might be a little lonely too. Another kitty will teach him really quickly. Or if you can foster a kitten(s) for a bit it will help him learn that using teeth is bad!

It's true that cats can develop this behavior when their mothers were not around to discipline them. Have you tried redirecting his biting? When he begins to bite, grab a small toy and allow him to bite it instead, and then reward him with a treat or praise if he continues to play with it instead.

It's typical kitten behavior to be energetic and playful, but when they become aggressive while doing so you should either redirect it to something else (like the toy) or gently put him on the floor and ignore him, letting him know that what he did was not tolerated and will get him no more attention. Try not to use physical discipline as this can promote aggression or fearfulness in your cat.

I had luck with holding my cat down, gently, but firmly. Enough he felt it, but of course not enough to hurt. I read this on , I think, the website by the guy who does that TV show on "crazy" cats. My cat also would run behind me and throw all his weight right behind my knee, and it would by buckle it,too.

My cat STILL tries to bite, and I still say "don't hurt mommy" while applying pressure. The second he stops, I say "good boy"...he loves being told he's a good boy, btw, so it really works.

My happy place.
Try hissing at him. It's funny, I just mentioned this in another thread about hissing.
When my Amber used to bear hug my arm with her claws and teeth when she was young I would hiss at her. Like a loud pssssssst sound. She really didn't like this and got the message pretty quick.
She was a very boisterous, confident in your face kitten but she settled down as she got older.
I'm sure your boy will too, good luck!
