Hello,
I rescued my cat, Blue, about six months ago. She is the only pet in the household. She is perfectly healthy and had an examination when I got her. About a month ago I noticed a small lesion on her skin on her neck/chin area. It was a small, roundish, sore. It basically looked to me like she had scratched herself and had just kept picking the scab. My first thought was to take her to the vet but I was advised to give it a week and see how it did. I kept an eye on it and it healed up perfectly fine. It scanned over and the hair grew back to normal. Now this week, I noticed she had similar lesions, but this time there were multiple. She doesn't seem very concerned with them, but I am. Upon further examination I've found about 5 currently. I'm not sure what to make of them. She is home alone all day as I'm at work, so on one hand I think maybe she's just over grooming and licks/nibbles those problem area too much. On the other hand I think it might be some type of underlying skin condition such as ring worm. This is my first cat, and pet, so she's like a daughter to me and I'm concerned on how to correctly remedy the situation. I just graduated college, so I have a lot of responsibilities and therefore would prefer not to have to take her to the vet for the bill but I will if that's what should be done. Thank you in advanced for you help!
