Hi-I brought my cat in for an anal expression and he ended up being due for physical and vaccine.  They vaccinated him without asking me.  I don't even know what they gave him.  I think rabbies and something else.  He has been icky since Friday night.  Not eating, he is drinking and peeing.  He is not himself sleeping a lot....he's just very sad.  I got him to eat a little boiled chicken Sunday night.  Nothing since then.  I called the vet this morning.  His labs all came back normal.  They told me to wait until tomorrow and the vet who actually saw him would call me...ugh.  I feel like he is feeling sick for too long.  Since Friday afternoon...he should be better by now.  Just seeing if anyone else has had this problem.  I basically took a cat who was okay except for his butt thing and now he's sick.  So annoyed and worried.

Could he have picked up a virus at the vets? I took my cat in for a urinalysis and culture. He came home with vomiting and diarrhea. My other cats caught it from him. It took a week for everyone to feel better.

Live virus vaccines can cause a low grade illness that should pass. Here is a list of side effects commonly seen.

I would have asked the vet to at least give him fluids! I'm surprised the vet said to "wait it out" even though he hasn't eaten or drank anything. My cat had a reaction, 2 days after her vaccine as she ended up having an allergic reaction to it. They gave her fluids and an antihistamine.

Poor kitty, hope he gets well soon!

Thanks to you both for the reply.  I can't take it.  I hate seeing him this way.  I feel so guilty...I brought a healthy cat into the vet and now this.

My cat had an allergic reaction to the vaccines and had to take her back in the next day. They two gave her fluids and an antihistamine and she can no longer have vaccines, this is the vet telling me this. This was back in 2010. She did have the rabies vaccine recently but they kept her for the day and gave her  antihistamine before the injection.

Hope your kitty feels better soon.
