Hi all!

So I just read on Dr. Pierson's site (catinfo.org) that they finally brought the 3-year Purevax rabies vaccine to the market.

I recently have decided that I no longer want my cats to be vaccinated but my vet MAY ask me to still do the rabies since it is mandatory in Louisiana. I'm thinking I won't put up a fight about it only because both of my cats are healthy and only IF they offer the 3-year Purevax.

My only question is does anyone know the difference between the 3-year and 1-year? I know price-wise the 3-year is more expensive but as to the drugs in the vaccine...is it different? I'm kind of hesitant to try it since the product is new to the shelves.

Can anyone offer reassurance? haha

Thanks,

Absolutely go with the three year Purevax rabies vaccine if needed. It is much safer AND there is absolutely no difference in the actual "serum" amount/level as compared to the one year. It all just depends on the laws of your county. Most accept a three year rabies vaccine now. And YAY for that!!!
