I am hoping to take my cat to the vet today but wanted to see if anyone here had some insight into his issue.  It started on Saturday as near as I can tell.  We went to bed and he curled up by me as usual and then he started obsessively licking his back leg and it was like it was having a spasm. He would kind of duck at it and it was like it was moving independently and he couldn't figure it out.  This went on for like 15 minutes.  He then seemed fine but it did it again in the morning and when he was on my lap yesterday.  This morning before I got up he was doing it again and I grabbed his paw and held his leg.  I didn't feel it move or twitch and I held it for several minutes.  When I let it go, he was right back at it.  If he gets up while it is going on, he will kind of lick his back flank.  It doesn't seem to impact his movement at all and he is eating fine.  He seems to be playing a bit less with the other cats and usually he is the main groomer of the other cats and he doesn't seem to be doing that either.  He isn't running around or vocalizing like his entire body itches or anything.  I haven't changed their food at all.  I did do a bunch of cleaning with Nature's Miracle around the cat boxes because I have company coming.

It sounds like one particular spot is bothering him? Could be a spider bite perhaps? Hopefully the vet can figure it out easily.

Update.  Stilton is at the vet.  The vet said he could definitely feel something going on with the muscle in that leg.  A tumor or bloodclot were mentioned as possibilities and some other terms I didn't know.  I left him there for xrays and bloodwork.  I am very worried.

My heart goes out to you, I hope it is something minor that can be easily cured. I'll pray for Stilton to be cured, good luck!
