My friend has about 12 cats and they keep reinfecting each other and he now has it all over his body how do you cure the ring worm for good? Even on humans ? He keeps going to the vet for treatments but that isn't working and he got cream for himself from the dr and that ain't working and will ringworm cure it self ? And is it dangerous ?

Thanks for any advice i get for him thank you

Sorry to hear about your friend and his cats. Ringworm can really be a nightmare, especially in multiple cat homes. :sigh: Yes - as far as I know - ringworm is self-limiting BUT I think if it is not stopped by the "source", it will keep recurring and your friend and the cats will continue to become infected. Some cats can be infected but not flare because their immune systems take care of the fungus on their own. It sounds though that the ringworm has really taken hold in his home. :shame: Hope some of the following helps.

A TCS article on ringworm: http://www.thecatsite.com/a/ringworm-in-cats

Someone at the shelter just the other day put up this link to a great treatment protocol by Dr. Karen Moriello, DVM and I have seen this elsewhere on site here too: https://www.giveshelter.org/dermatophyte-treatment-in-a-nutshell.html AND the actual video going over the protocol - (over an hour long, though, but may be worth the view since your friend has 12 cats!!!) http://www.maddiesfund.org/how-animal-shelters-are-beating-ringworm.htm
