I'm not really sure if this is even a problem.

But I feel like our cat has not lost his kitten fur. He is around the 7 month age and has bunny soft fur. It goes far beyond the realm of very soft cat fur. It's also very fine and kinky in some areas like near his tail and ears.

We also noticed that his undercoat is like twice as long as his regular fur. The pictures don't do it justice. He has tons of these crazy long furs that stick out all over. They don't brush out and have been there for months. I just figured it was his winter coat coming in. But then I started wondering if this happens so due to a medical issue. He is totally fine otherwise.

We were told he was a begal and Russian blue mix. I've always been skeptical but he is a maniac so I've kinda just believed the Bengal part.

Anybody have any info on this type of thing?

There are quite a few varieties where it comes to feline fur. Some cats have longer undercoats than others and that's normal. In fact, like you said, many cats have a different coat during wintertime, and also the nature of the coat can change as the cat matures.

I can't see any problem in the pictures. It seems to be thick and healthy in the pictures. Since he is well otherwise, I wouldn't do anything about this other than ask the vet to give his opinion during your next routine check-up.
