Okay, I need your advice & opinions please. I have my one cat Burrliouze who has had an ear infection for about a month now (the second one within 4 months), took him to the vet and it's both yeast & bacterial. They gave him a cortisone shot, & the ear drops. Took him back the second time and said it was improving but still not all gone so we are continuing into week 4 with the ear drops. Still digging and head shaking :(...Now onto my cat Nina. I got Nina back in 2013 and about 2 months after her coming to live with us, about every 2-3 months she breaks out into dermatitis around her neck!! It's so frustrating! She get's this scabby & dry skin and it will spread and hair plugs come out. We have to take her to the vet, give her the cortisone shot along with either a antibiotic shot or cephalexin for 2 weeks..and then it will disappear only to reoccur in 2-3 months. SOO, I am losing my mind here!! They have their own bedroom that I ONLY use organic pet safe cleaners along with all over my house, I have no irritating scents in my house, the bedding gets washed 2-3x's a month, the room is deep cleaned once a week...and my babies are still dealing with all this...has anybody had anything similar happen? I am feeding Petsmart's Simply Nourish Chicken & Turkey recipe.....does anybody think it's the food maybe? I have no idea, as I said I'm loosing my mind, I have done everything I can and these issues are still going on. I personally think it could be the food, anybody else feed this and have issues? Any help and advice would be much appreciated!!!

**ALSO!! Has anyone had any experience feeding Blue Buffalo Basics Limited Ingred. Grain Free Formula Turkey & Potato? I was thinking of switching to something like this, if anybody has any foods they feed that have helped keep allergies away let me know!! :)**

It's very hard to say but skin issues are often allergic in nature and can be food related.  The ear infection sounds less likely to be food related.  Sometimes (perhaps often) we can't control the cause of an illness - things just happen, bad luck, genes, the aging process.  But you might want to discuss with your vet trying a new food and seeing if that helps.  But don't beat yourself up.

Thanks. I am just loosing my mind here, they're both 2 years old so they are fairly young, I'm just going to switch a food and see how this goes.
