Tiger has only gotten worse since being fixed. He's extraordinarily aggressive now. He's attacking absolutely everyone. (And marking more) Especially people's pets. I have a friend near upstate new york who agreed to have a shelter and feed him. There's no other ferals she knows of, no outdoor cats either.

I hate resorting to this, but he is a danger to every cat in the neighborhood and himself. This is the only thing I can think of besides letting someone else put him down. I'm giving my friend his preffered shelter in hopes he'll accept his new home.

She can't keep him inside with her menagerie. But she has an indoor kitty, and her family has rescued many. She knows what to do. But any advice on transporting and encouraging him to stay?

I'm gonna use a drop trap with him. I'm pretty sure I can get him that way. It really upsets me, cause he is rather human friendly (No touching, but he follows us around and begs. Lol). But he is gonna kill one of these kitties one of these days, and I won't let that happen.

I hate this. :-(

Hi Astrael,

I haven't read all of your posts, but I think Tiger was the cat that was TNR'd this summer, right? Male cats are sometimes aggressive for a while after they've been fixed, but he should have calmed down by now.

If you think relocating him is the best option and have found a place for him to go then of course that's much better than having him pts.

He'll need to be caged for at least a month when he gets to his new home. That's how long it takes for him to forget about his old territory and accept the sights and sounds of his new place as home. Does your friend have a barn or garage she can keep him in? Ideally he should be kept in a large crate inside of a barn, cellar or shed, but I've heard of cats being crated in a tent when noting else was available.

How far is your friend's place from yours? He can be transported in the trap. Raise the trap up a little and put a sheet of plastic covered with newspaper under it. This will keep your car dry if he needs to pee on the trip. When we moved our cat across the country we got some travel sickness medicine from the vet. This can be mixed into food. it stops them getting sick but also makes them sleepy, so they're less stressed on the journey.

Good luck, let us know if you need any more advice.

I know it's been quite some time. I wanted to correct something. I thought our neighbor had him fixed, cause he had a tear on his ear. She had been trapping a number of kittens, and it sounded like she had gotten him. Turns out he was not caught.

We caught him in February (after a bad fight) and got him fixed, he was also treated with an antibiotic cause he was heavily scarred. (only two years old!) Thankfully he had no abscesses or serous wounds.

Everything has improved. Almost no spraying, he gets along with everyone better. And we've renamed him Napoleon (Leo for short). It's very appropriate. He's so tiny! Smallest of all the cats still.

It was like all the others knew immediately. And the vet thought he might have been trying to mate with the fixed girls, causing a lot of fights. He was scared of us for a few weeks, but comes right up to me when he knows I have something tasty again. Lol

And Judy has had months of social rehab with us, and is a new cat. She plays a lot, even with her sisters now. She's so much more confident. She also won over my hubby's grandma more than I imagined! She pets Judy now, which is still shocking. Judy comes inside when the weather is nasty, and gets spoiled rotten.

All round, a happy resolution. :-)

Thank you so much for updating.  What a happy ending for Leo.  I am so glad you were able to help him.  What a difference a neuter makes!!!
