This morning when I woke up I noticed that my almost six month old kitten had vomited twice. Although I probably should have, I didn't worry about it and went to work. A couple hours later while on my lunch break I drove home to check on him and discovered he had vomited about 10 more times and was quote lethargic and had not eaten any of the food I had left for him. At this point I called my manager and let her know I would
Be late coming back to work.

I had issues finding a vet because I just moved to a new town and my regular vet is an hour away. We are in the middle of a winter storm and the vets here in town closest to me were closed due to power outages. So I drove him to a vet about a half hour away.

The vet really has not told me much as of yet and I am SICK with worry. They seem most concerned with getting him to eat at the moment and are keeping him over night to keep an eye on him. They seem to think he must have gotten into something but I just can not think of what. I have searched my apartment high and low and there's nothing I can find that he could have eaten. The only thing they mentioned that might have happened is he could have gotten a hair elastic and swallowed it. He's always trying to steal them from me.

I know he's at the vet and that is the best place for him right now but I still at a loss. I'm going crazy with worry, he is my baby :( any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. I'm so sick with worry.

I'm also worried about the vet costs sadly :( I will do what I have to, I have a credit card for emergencies.. But I am a student and am barely getting by myself. No comments on how if I can't afford it I shouldn't have a cat.. I have savings set aside for this I'm just scared they will
Not be enough. I started a vet fund when I decided to keep Boone (I found him on the highway at 6 weeks) it just hasn't had a chance to grow too much :(

one thing I have learned over the past 20 years of Cat ownership is that if they are young they will pull through. Youth goes a long way. When they are young it's usually some bacteria or worms both can be fixed. Though I have had my cats steal my hair elastics they've never eaten them just played with them. Keep your chin up your kitty will get better and hopefully be out tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply. I really hope you are right!!!

Boone is up to date on all shots and is treated with revolution once a month. He was neutered a couple of weeks ago, and just had a check up a few days ago to make sure all was well. He checked out fine.

They told me to call around ten or eleven tomorrow morning. We'll see if I can wait that long.

They would not be able to tell what?
I was told if the vet wanted to do anything (run any tests or what not) they would call me to okay it, and I have not received any calls as of yet. I did make it clear I wanted them to do whatever they could, though. I guess I will know more in the morning

You said your kitty had just been for a check up a couple days before and was fine I was just commenting that unless at the prior check they checked a fecal sample your kitty could have left there having worms or bacterial infection and not being treated for it, and it is just now it got bad. They are probably now doing that if they didn't before and getting to the bottom of it. He will be fine but I know the waiting is hard.
