We rescued Alice and Trixie when they were born outside our workplace in March 1995.  Our sweet Alice passed away 12/10/07 from a blood clot and her sister  Trixie lived on for another seven years.  They both brought us so much love and they were like my children.  We had to make the difficult decision yesterday to let our sweet girl go at almost 20 years of age.  Her health was declining over the past few months and she stopped eating a few days ago.   Brought her to the vet expecting the worst but hoping for better.   Unfortunately they found an abdominal mass which would account for the symptoms she's had.     We stayed with her till the end, very very difficult.  Our hearts are broken.   RIP baby girl and kisses to your sister Alice.

My condolences to you @trixiecat on the loss of your cat Trixie and previously for losing Alice.  It is heart breaking to let a cat go.  I think it may be quite rough for awhile, but perhaps posting photos of the girls, or just talking about them on Site, would help.  Like @KittyMomma1122 said, it does sound like you gave each of them a great life, and now they can roam around together, again.

I'm so sorry for your loss of your dear Trixie, but what a wonderful, long life she had with you!  Not many live to the ripe old age of 20.  You must have had quite a special bond together after so many years.  You did all you could, you couldn't let her suffer.  She knew you loved her right up until the end.  How lucky she was for that.

My heart goes out to you for your loss, I know what a hole it leaves in your heart. Celebrate the wonderful long life that Trixie lived, she left you her legacy of love and devotion and taught you how to share your heart. Now you keep her in that special place in your heart, never to be forgotten. You were there to give her comfort and love at the end,and even though it broke your heart to do so, you freed her to meet  Alice over that Rainbow Bridge.  I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, thank you for sharing your tribute to a valued member of your family, and letting us share some of your pain as friends who know the pain of losing our loved ones. Take care.......RIP beautiful Trixie, the heavens have gained yet another precious angel!

Hi Trixiecat, I am so sorry for your loss of Trixie. I know the pain you must be feeling. Believe me, I would never wish that pain on anyone. She had an amazing life with you till the age of 20. That is truly amazing! ! I know you miss both Trixie and Alice lots. Just remember that they love you and are watching you from above. They are still with you (in your heart) and will remain there forever!! Take Care!!
By The Way, Did you name them after the characters on "The Honeymooners"?? Just wondering?? I think they are very sweet names, as I am sure your babies were just as sweet!!

Thank you all for your kind words.   Yes, Alice and Trixie were inspired by the Honeymooners.  We thought about Laverne and Shirley, Lucy and Ethel, etc. but settled on these names.   We're missing both of them immensely :(   Happy holidays all.
