Lilith is HOME!

She came through surgery like a champ and she is back to her shouting demanding self! She's all stitched up and wanting to play and be cuddled again. She's fussing with her stitches, so we put her little sweater on to keep her preoccupied with being impeded by clothes. So happy to see her LOUD and HAPPY again. I'm sure a bit of that is the pain meds speaking, but it's just amazing to have her acting like HER again <3 The sweater isn't impeding her much, and she continues to try and pick, so I guess we'll need to stay awake all night and watch her closely. I doubt we'd be able to keep a cone on that tiny head and neck.. Even a homemade one.

I'm just glad she's alright <3

Someone wouldn't stop bugging her stitches, so ON went the homemade cone of shame. She wasn't bothered at all and resigned to her fate when we sat back down to watch a movie near her.

She's such a cheeky little girl. I'm glad to see her back to her 'old' ways.

She's now attempting to fall asleep sitting up in a rather awkward position. If you stop picking at the stitches sweetie, you can have the thing off.

<3 <3 <3

Thank you EVERYONE for caring. I'll update until she has made a full recovery, and then after.

I was checking on Lilith and sneaking up for a picture, but being so thin from her ordeal and so tiny, it's often hard to tell if she's even breathing, which is scary as hell :/ But she's letting me know she's fine. LOUD and CLEAR.

"Are you alright, Lilith?"

"LET MEOWT! MNOW!"

She's adorable! I'm so glad the vet was able to find out what was wrong, and that she came through the surgery well.

Oh my goodness, I just found out she was going into surgery and now she is out and okay.  I can't tell you how happy and relieved I am for you and especially for Lilith.  She definitely had youth on her side.  She will be right as rain before you know it.  A big snuggle for that beautiful little white fur baby and a hug also for the lady you got her from.  You and your other half can now sit down and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea and get ready for Lilith to make up for lost time.   All the best and keep us posted!

Lilith woke up with a hunger this morning and she let us know loud and clear that she wanted breakfast and she wanted it NOW. She did not silence until I put a small spoonful of A/D on a little plastic lid. Then she eat a few big bites, then settled down to lick and nibble, purring inbetween every little bite!

We're SO HAPPY and SO Grateful!

I mis-spelled the term for her condition, I spelled it how it sounded, but I've found the actual name.

Intussusception.

Here is more information on it.

http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/digestive/c_ct_intussusception

What kills me is reading THIS. " Although any breed may be affected, the Siamese breed has been found to have a higher frequency. "

My heart broke reading that. If only we had known we could've helped her even sooner. Thank goodness she's alive and well..

Still eating and loving it! Grooms herself awkwardly after every meal <3

She hasn't passed any solid waste yet, but we both expect she'll take a while for that, having had nothing in her gut for days. Her system will be soaking up a LOT of what she eats for the time being, so the stool watch continues.

So today's morning check has brought me immense worry and concern.

I checked her stitches and incision site to see how it was going, as I do every morning, and it appears somehow she has managed to either agitate the site into firm swelling, or has managed to herniate it.

I am terrified that it might be the latter and have taken a photo and asked around multiple sources for second opinions as I couldn't reach the vet by phone and have yet to hear back from anyone I have asked.

She's still the same chatty, active, constantly hungry self since she got home, but the bulge scares me out of my mind. What do all of you think? She wants to play, but we have denied her everything but her favourite mouse so she isn't completely bored. She bats it around, but nothing overly exciting. She has only come out to sit with us during a movie, and nothing more.

I don't know what she did, but I am on absolute high alert. She hasn't been picking that either of us have seen and this wasn't present yesterday from the usual checks. I can touch the bulge and she doesn't react at all, so there hasn't been any noted discomfort or upset.
I am not going to be idle about it though :/

Looks familiar. That happened to one of my girls and she did have a hernia, so back in for surgery.
Looks like she needs to go back quickly to me. And I hope everything is okay, or will be soon.
