I am posting this is "Health," Admin feel free to move it to another area.  I do believe this is a concern for cats as well as dogs.  If this saves one pet, it is worth sharing.  I really can't believe this dog is gone.

Heads up, pet owners! Chip bags are dangerous! A friend’s dog suffocated in a chip bag last night.  She has - oh my, she HAD! - a Cardigan Welsh corgi.    This is just tragic, has me in tears.   During this busy holiday season, when we are running in a 100 directions and have so much on our mind, please be very, very careful about chip and popcorn bags and your dogs.

Please be sure and either put half-finished bags out of reach of your food hounds, or cut bags and place them securely in the trash.

Oh, how sad!! I'd like to say the same for plastic grocery bags. I thought safely putting the used ones under the sink sufficed until one nite I returned from work to find my trembling cat at the door with a bag handle wrapped around his neck, he'd gotten into the cabinet and it almost killed him.

Plastic bags can be so dangerous. My cat Pushy got the handle of one around his neck when he was young. Went tearing around the apartment in a huge panic and got such a fright he pooped himself. Lucky we were home so could rescue him. I can just imagine a cat doing that and getting so worked up that they end up choking. :(
