My cat has IBD. We have spent over $1000 on him since we got him in February of this year and I have no idea what to do anymore. The vet recently had us switch to Purina's Hypoallergenic food and atopica which was working great for about two months. Now, he is back to having gas and bad diarrhea. One of his usual symptoms is itchy skin so he starts to itch his face so much that he opens wounds and we have to put a cone on his head. It seems the only time he really does well is when we take him to the vet and they give him a steroid shot but a few months later he is back there again. I'm not sure if we need to switch his food again or if he is stuck getting steroid shots the rest of his life. We were also asked to give him b12 shots, too. We did for awhile but due to money issues, we stopped for a couple of months. I started those again after getting some from the vet and am just waiting for it to kick in. I would just like to hear if anyone else has had anything with their cat that was successful because this cat's vet bills are drying up my bank account! I love the little guy and don't want him to suffer anymore so I am hoping to find some suggestions that may help him.

Thanks!

D

There are a number of members who are or have dealt with IBD. Hopefully, one of them will be online shortly.

My cat has IBD and FIV. I fed him Nature's Variety canned rabbit and all his symptoms have been gone since. No diarrhea, puking or itchy skin. It has been couple months now.
