Should we take Zoey to the vet now?

Hello,
My little Zoey was adopted to her forever home in September, she came home to a brother, tons of toys and always a lap to sit in. She was always purring and would always cuddle even at night in bed. What we've noticed in the last week is she is chewing on any fabric she can get her cute little paws on and doesn't purr for anything. We though maybe the humane society was off in her age and she was teething but I'm still really worried about her. Should we wait it out and see if she stops chewing or look into a vet visit? Or is there a way to get her to stop chewing?

It sounds like a type of obsessive compulsive behavior that some cats engage in with fabrics.  First, remove all possible sources of temptation.  Here are some articles on the subject:
