Been wondering about it. I think it has fish in it, but in rotation, I am thinking it might be okay. It would certainly have better quality than Fancy Feast classics, though like you say, carbs may be high for daily feeding. Let us know if your cat likes it.

Yeah I  am kinda nervous about the carb %  .  So if they like it , it will be fed just once in a awhile ..

Ingredients look pretty good.  I'm looking for a cheaper option to add to my rotation and this may be one to add.  I found Sheba which I'm adding.   Though this one has  carrots and potato starch you wish these food co. would stop adding in.

The carb % you mention has me concerned too.

I know ,  I like the ingredients but I not too sure about feeding this because of the carbs .

Well, I picked up a can of the chicken and sweet potato pate. The other one that looks pretty good is the trout and catfish.  I don't feed fish often (and fish is 4th in the Chicken and Sweet Potato), but I might as a special treat or if a cat were not feeling well for some reason--usually fish and the extra smell factor entices them to eat.

They are not single-protein foods, however, and that is a shame.  If you have a cat who has allergies to chicken or fish, all the pates have both, it seems.

Again, it is nice to have a grocery store option.  I have realized I don't have enough food to make it late at night before.  Right now, my cats only have a few brands and flavors that are tolerated and liked.  Fancy Feast Classic Turkey is one I can get it at the grocery store, but several times, they have been totally sold out at our store.  To avoid sending DH to another store (especially since I tend to have him stop on the way home from work, when he is already exhausted), I can have him grab several cans of the Beyond Chicken and Sweet Potato pate, and I know the cats will be okay until the next day.

Fortunately at this point, I don't have any diabetic cats, so I can balance the carb thing a bit.  I usually open two cans a feeding when I feed, so I could even mix with Fancy Feast Turkey, which I did with this when I served it, to add more protein to the total meal.

Anyway, that is my experience with it.  They loved it.  They did not even hesitate when I put it in the bowl and were vocal for more (and I split 1/2 can between 3 cats the first feeding in case of intolerance or allergy).  For what it is worth, if you have cats that like Fancy Feast only or primarily, this would be an option for better quality in terms of no bi-products.  One of my cats is very picky.  For a while, I thought she was only going to eat Fancy Feast Classic for her entire life.  So far, the only other cans she will eat (have to be carrageenan free, as she and her brother hack up huge hair balls daily with foods that contain it) are Nutro Chicken Loaf, 3 or 4 varieties of Weruva (avoiding the fish--and I have to cut up the shreds for her), and now, this Beyond Chicken and Sweet Potato pate.

Maybe Purina will come out with other varieties in the line that are indeed single protein and with fewer carbs, but again, I can appreciate that the list of ingredients is fairly short compared to even some of the brands like NV Instinct and such who have a list of veggies included.

Having said that, I bought the Nutro Chicken Loaf on sale at Petsmart this week for around $1 a 3 oz.. can, and Kroger had this Beyond Chicken and Sweet Potato 3 oz. Can on sale 10/$10, so I got 3 of those for $1 a can.  Cheaper than Weruva by the ounce, but there are certainly more calories per ounce with the Nutro or the Beyond. Of course, Fancy Feast was on sale for half the price of the Beyond.

Those are the exact flavors I got Mr R!! And he--of finicky palate--devoured them both, though he seemed to like the chicken n sweet potato more.

I like how dense this cat food is. I don't feel like they're ripping us off with broth etc.

I have heard bad things about menadione, I would avoid. It is artificial vitamin k and a carcinogen.
I know that , it is in  ALL of the Fancy Feast formulas  as well but as far as ingredients go I like the Purina Beyond better ..

Its so frustrating.  I go with FF or Sheba which while not great they do not contain careeganan.   It is a cheaper option to add to a rotation but then you see  that it adds another ingredient to worry about.

Yes it certainly is ..  No matter what food you choose it seems there is something not quite right . I guess there is no perfect food ..

Not affordable anyways, they are out there but very expensive, too much for the majority of the population.
I won't give up Merrick which has carrageenan, I just rotate it in with ones that do not. No one throws up on it, that's good enough for me. Low carbs, not a lot of junk, 5.5 oz cans no waste with 2 cats and they love it! Decent price at chewy.com.

Mine like pate so I get the chicken pate and duck pate. They also like Grammys pot pie and turducken. They have not refused any flavor. They even ate cowboy cookout, I did not think they liked beef. They have pate, minced and morsels.
go to chewy.com and read reviews. Pates have lowest carbs so that is what I buy cases of then I go to store to pick out random flavorers like Grammys pot pie or chicken divan as a treat.

It has to be Pate . They do not like any other texture .. They like a 1/2 can of very hot water added and blended into a smooth paste ..

[/. They have several pates chicken, duck, turkey, surf & turf, tuna, beef. It's not the most expensive but it is one of the better priced of the better foods. It has never been snubbed at my house.
