Hubby and I went to see Planet of the Apes on Thursday. I'll admit that I didn't think I would like it.
I thought it was going to be stupid, with a bunch of fake monkeys running around.
I never saw the original movie, either. But, I ended up liking it!! I give it
Tim Burton did a really good job of making it "dark." We most likely will buy it when it comes out on DVD. What did you think of it? The ending, though, was kinda corny in a way.

As a matter of fact.. Craig and I just got back from going to see this movie. We both thought it was excellent. Mark Wahlberg (sp) is an exceptional actor. At the end of the movie... Craig leaned over and said "how cheesy" (I don't want to give the movie away to those who haven't seen it) and then we read the script above the statue.. boy was he surprised..

I have seen both the old and now the new.. both were excellent. However, my daddy watched Pota all the time when I was a kid and it kinda got old.. so as a child I *HATED* it.

Thats my two cents folks.

I haven't seen it yet. Scott wants to see it really bad. I never saw the original, but if my mother tells me the original was good, then it's got to be. My mom will refuse to waste her time on silly movies. So I always trust her opinion. And I'm glad y'all are backing up that it was good. I want to see America's Sweethearts. Scott doesn't but it's a trade-off. I can"secretly" not want to see POTA and he can watch AS with me!!

I saw it, I liked it, but I didn't get the ending *shrug*

I laughed histarically when Charleton Heston did his line from the original movie. Only a few people caught it.

I think I would have rather waited, and watched it on video.

I haven't seen Planet of the Apes yet. I'm sure I'll only see it once it comes to DVD. Too expensive to pay for a movie and a sitter.

WashuSama - My husband and I also thought Unbreakable was disappointing, so you're not alone!
